Inglis Graduates in Hong Kong
Inglis Graduates took out two races at the Happy Valley meeting on Melbourne Cup Day, with first time victors DANHERO (2000 Easter $130,000) and DASHING CHAMPION (2001 Scone $9,000) finding their way to the winner's circle.
Three year old gelding DASHING CHAMPION scored a well deserved win in the Class Three Community Chest Cup at his second appearance, having won on debut 10 days earlier only to be relegated to second after causing interference in the straight.
''Actually I think he's won two races, but a first and a second is not too bad,'' said trainer Peter Ng Bik-kuen. ''Now we've won a Cup race second-up, I'm not concerned about what happened last time.''
Bred at Lucernevale Stud near Dubbo, Dashing Champion is by Carry the Crown (USA) from Lots of Humour, a sister to the stakes-winning sprinter Top Comedian. He maintains a perfect record in Hong Kong for his sire Carry the Crown (USA), who's been represented by three horses on the island that have all won, the others being smart gallopers Carry the News and Convergence.
DANHERO scored an easy win at his first start for the new season, showing considerable improvement on his previous form. Selected and purchased by prominent bloodstock agent Keiran Moore, he's by Danzero from the Bluebird (USA) mare Suburban Blues, making him a full brother to stakes-placed filly Bluedanu.
