Hong Kong Golf Club Centenary Cup
The Hong Kong Golf Club Centenary Cup (1650m) will be held on Wednesday, 30 October 2002 at Happy Valley.
Among the contestant is BLUE STITCH, who was beaten by just half a length last time out over the same distance at Sha Tin.
Its seasonal debut was over 1200m at Happy Valley when it was beaten by just a neck. HARMONY PARTNER, who finished second over the course and distance on its last run, is making steady progress since his arrival from New Zealand.
CITI CENTRE has won three out of four starts around this C&D. Winner of the same race last year, NEW ASIANS has a history of going well fresh. SIXTY SECONDS failed to grasp the Hong Kong Country Club Challenge Cup over the C&D two runs ago but touched the line just 3/4 length behind the winner Danriva (who has won again in a 1800m race with class two prize money last Saturday). SALUZI is making Happy Valley debut with the in-form apprentice M W Leung.

Olivier Doleuze and Tony Millard, who have teamed up to good effect before, can maintain their good strike-rate as a partnership by landing the Hong Kong Golf Club Centenary Cup tonight with Blue Stitch.
The progressive son of Selkirk is yet to notch his first victory, but he looks set to do it in fine style by landing the silverware on his first attempt over the Valley mile. He has been more than a shade unlucky not to have won this season already, having finished a close second on two of his three starts. The first of his runner-up spots came on his reappearance when he struck a quality field which included the likes of Honour Supreme, Native Language and Felicity in what has turned out to be a rather strong form event.

Does this picture look familiar???????
It looks rather like the same photo that appears below...however this photo above ( taken from the SCMP site) states that it is a picture of
"Close encounter: Douglas Whyte reaches out to high-five a fan after scoring on Packing Angel. Picture by Garrige Ho"
In fact it is the same picture ( unless Dougy always high fives the raceday crowd after he wins on packing angel at he same spot)
I think that they are pulling our legs and that this picture is an old one and couldnt possibly have been taken last night.
I think that there should be an enquiry into the galringly obvious ploy of trying to pass off an old photo as a new one.
