Hi everyone,
Last year I ran a competition of The New Horse Racing Community Forum called Springcomp just4fun.
http://communities.ninemsn.com.au/TheNewHorseRacingCommunityForum/_whatsnew.msnw
It is a highly interactive game where entrants can buy and sell horses for cyber dollars before the start of the spring carnivals, and bet on their horses when they are entered for the races. It is heaps of fun and everybody enjoyed themeselves immensely ( you can still see the comp threads at the NHRCF under Spring comp to get an idea) . There were over 50 people entered in the comp, plus we had several bookmakers and people working on blackbooks etc etc. Matttherat was most successful with his purchase Ethereal who we all know went on to win the Caulfield/ Melbourne cup double.
Now with only a couple of months away till the start of spring racing in Australia ( and about 6 weeks till the competiton start) I have been putting on my thinking cap to come up with ways to make this years competition more fun ( and easier to run).
One idea I had was to include Hong Kong and perhaps USA or something in this years comp. Most of it would be run off NHRCF but I could sell some horses on this site as well and perhaps get people to include their entries on this site. I was thinking perhaps 10 horses or so in Hong Kong just to add a bit of interest. Or more perhaps depending on demand.
I was wondering if anybody on this site would be willing to join up and be a part of the competition? If there are enough people here I would seriously consider giving this a go.
What we would do is pick the 10 best horses say ( I supppose anything likely to run during the Internationals would be great, Eishon Preston , Olympic Express etc) and auction them off for Cyber Dollars. You then get the $$$ prizemoney put against your name when they win races and you will be able to have a good bet on them with the bookmakers in Australia ( all for cyber dollars of course)
Would there be interest in this neck of the woods for this idea? Or shall I just stick to the NHRCF? Perhaps there would be someone here that would want to play bookie for instance?
Once it is up and running the comp should take care of itself this year without too much input from me ( I have some ideas to do this) , but the bookies lot is quite a lot of work.
