It now appears that racing in Malaysia is deteriorating - in terms of horse numbers. Its declining so badly that many future
sponsored races may be cancelled.

I am not surprised by this latest development going on northside.
The management is lazy, lack imagination and innovation.
The race commentaries are appalling and even the video camera man is allowed
to shoot his fancied horses going to the start instead of showing
everyone all the horses in a race.
And more often than not, horses walked to the start instead of
cantering or galloping to ''open up their windpipes."

The biggest slag must be the fact that malaysian horses do not
perform regular fast trackworks publicly . This is done so that punters will not have a clue which horse is fit to win and which is fat to loose. http://www.asianracing.nu/vb/images/icons2/icon8.gif

So I will be the happiest man when malaysia closes down its racecourses, and save the embarrassment. :)

And more often than not, in every race you can clearly see
8 out of 12 jockeys in a race will be pullinig their horses .... f
avorite tactic is to go wide round the bend or miss the start...

Master Lim is notoriously good at these, you see inspite of being
suspended for nearly 3/4 of his riding career time,
this felllow has been walking in and out of 12 months suspensions -
he is still at his tricks again  He is a talented natural rider..
but too cocky for his own good!

Many young Malaysian apprentices do not understand that
the only way to succeed in their riding career is to win races-
and be noticed. Pulling horses for the sakes of pleasing the
trainers and owners will only eventually lead to nowhere ....
you will only become a has-been and could-have-been top jockey.
What a waste of talent !

None. They just aint intelligent enough to ride anywhere else.

Trainers and owners getting desperate nowadays what with the market crash, I expect foul tactics to increase many times. Big time bookies and their connected jockeys will be smiling all the way to the bars and banks on Mondays.
