7 jockeys were disqualified or suspended for periods ranging from several months to 1 year and more in the first quarter alone.

The notable one disqualified is SH Lee.

I have spoken out against this fellow for more than a dozen time. This jockey has never been clean in his riding. Everyone knows it.

He is still pulling and no trying like there is no tomorrow.

Question - why is the Malayan Racing Association ever so lenient with jockeys like SH Lee, Kelvin Oh and TM Wan? These jockeys have been happily walking in and out of suspension and disqualification like its a norm.

I would expect MRA to formally remove recalcitant jockeys' riding licenses as a reminder to other dishonest jockeys in Malaysia.

I think the stakes of MRA races are so pathetitic that a jockey would make more money not trying than winning a race !

Racing in Malaysia is on the decline, this is based on the latest figures on new imports.

I also think the race commentators are often embarassing and hilarious.
I mean what can one expect from trainee race commentators whose native lingo is basically native Malay, know next to nothing about horses and riding, and who have a poor command of the English language?

Latest update - 9 jockeys are now under disqualification for no trying, and more than a dozen suspended for 'lower' no try crimes.
