31 yr old visiting English jockey Brett Doyle caused a boil over by winning Sunday's 2000 Guineas for 3yr colts. Riding No Reason he burst to the front at the 200m and beat Tiger Cafe (Marco Demuro) and Tanino Gimlet (Hirofumi Shii) in 1.58.5 for the 2000m equaling the record.

No Reason started at 115/1 and the quinella paid at odds around 530/1. The winner and third horse are by Brian's Time and second horse by Sunday Silence. It's Doyles first G1 here and he was originally in Japan till next weekend but prior to the race decided to extend his stay for an extra month with the JRA's approval.
