The Chief Executive of the VRC, Dale Monteith is travelling to Japan with the Club's Vice-Chairman next week to meet with the JRA, JAIR and trainers identified with potential Tooheys New Melbourne Cup runners.
The recent success of Japanese horses in Hong Kong and Singapore has convinced the Club that the time is right to target Japan. Early indications are that there is strong interest in Australia’s greatest race.
