Licences for the 2002/2003 Racing Season
The MJC Licensing Committee has made the following decisions in respect to the application of licences for the 2002/2003 Raicng Season:
1. Trainers¡
1.1 To renew the Trainer's Licences for the following applicants:
1) Baldwin, Barry AUS 9) Lam, Yui Tai MAC 17) Moore, Gary AUS
2) Barnes, Joseph NZ 10) Lau, Chee Sun MAL 18) Ngai, Hang Hau HK
3) Benson, Gordon AUS 11) Lee, Kar Fai HK 19) Sin, Kam Ke HK
4) Chan, Yat Chuen HK 12) Lei, Ka Hei MAC 20) Suen, Chuk Sang HK
5) Cheong, Kim Seng MAC 13) Leyshan, Peter AUS 21) Tam, Man Chau HK
6) Chow, Yam Wah HK 14) Leong, Kuok Hou MAC 22) Tse, Kai Ying HK
7) Kent, Michael AUS 15) Leung, Wai Lun HK 23) Wong, Kwok Chuen HK

1.2 The following applicants should appear before the Committee on Tuesday, 21 May to show cause as to why their licences should be renewed:
a) Cheng, Hong Yip
b) Murphy, Joseph
c) Ho, Kam Sum
d) Choi, Po Chi
e) Choy, Yu Yee
f) Leung, Wing Ling

1.3 To defer the decision on the application of Tse Kwai Chuen to the end of August 2002.
1.4
The Committee refused to renew the Trainer's Licence for the 2002/2003 Racing Season for Lee Hon Ming.
1.5 The Committee decided not to reinstate Jose Corrales' Trainer's Licence at the expiration of his disqualification on 20 June 2002, and refused to grant him a Trainer's Licence for the 2002/2003 Racing Season.

2. Jockeys
2.1 To grant Freelance Jockey's Licences to the following applicants:
1) Chan, Chun Fai HK 6) Lam, Hoi HK 11) Tam, Kam Soi MAC
2) Chan, Ka Chun HK 7) Lao, Weng Hong MAC 12) Tam, Shu Man HK
3) Chan, Un Cheong MAC 8) Nip, Teng Kuan MAC 13) Tse, Wai Hoo HK
4) Choi, Chun Wai HK 9) Pao, Weng Tai MAC
5) Ho, Wah Lun HK 10) Siu, Keung MAC
2.2 A 6-month Provisional Visiting Jockey's Licence has been granted to each of the following, and to be re-considered at the end of January 2003.
a) Byrne, James
b) Corrales, Luis
c) Da Silva, Eurico Rosa
2.3 A 3-month Visiting Jockey's Licence has been granted to each of the following, and to be re-considered at the end of mid-November 2002.
a) Hyland, Samuel
b) Naude, Francois
2.4 To defer the decision on Robert Burke's application to the end of July 2002.
2.5 The following applicants should appear before the Committee on Tuesday, 21 May to show cause as to why their licences should be renewed:
a) Chan, Cheok Fong
b) Chan, Chi Kwan
c) Cheang, Chong
d) Cheung, Hok Kan

2.6 The Committee refused to grant a Freelance Jockey's Licence to each of the following applicants:
a) Brereton, Daniel
b) Didham, John
c) Day, Nathan
d) Marquez Jr., Carlos
e) So, Kam Man
The Committee directed that K M So should be offered a position as workrider with the Macau Jockey Club.

3. Apprentice Jockeys
3.1 The following apprentices were each granted an Apprentice Jockey's Licence:
1) Chao, Chong Chan MAC 4) Chio, Kam Hong MAC 7) Lei, Kwong Sang MAC
2) Chan, Nim Kun MAC 5) Lei, Chun On MAC 8) Tsang, Chun Pong MAC
3) Chan, Wai Lam MAC 6) Lei, Kin Meng MAC 9) Wong, Pak U MAC

3.2 Apprentice Yip Tung Yu was refused for an Apprentice Jockey's Licence for the 2002/2003 Racing Season. However, the Committee directed that T Y Yip should be offered a position in the stable with the Macau Jockey Club.

Gee Wizz the gweilos are off ! Any news about other positions within the club ?? eg vets, stewards and the like ??
