Opie Bosson will represent New Zealand at the 18th World Super Jockey Series to be held in Japan on 4 and 5 December.
This year’s competition will be held at Hanshin racecourse just outside Osaka where jockeys will have two rides on each day in the financially lucrative points-based contest.
Jockey selection, by a committee of the Japan Racing Association, is based on a number of factors including Group One success and prize money earned during the previous season.
Star Sydney jockey Glen Boss will represent Australia while other riders confirmed are Edgar Prado (USA), Patrick Smullen (IRE), Ioritz Mendizabal (FRA), Darryll Holland (UK), Andreas Suborics (GER) and Douglas Whyte (HKG).
Representing Japan will be Yutake Take, Katsumi Ando, Shinji Fujita, Yoshitomi Shibata, Norihiro Yokoyama and Hiroyuki Uchida.
Bosson has been under suspension since his ride on Keeninsky in the Coupland’s Bakeries New Zealand 2000 Guineas at Riccarton earlier this month but is eligible to ride again from Thursday, 2 December.

World Super Jockeys Series ends in a tie
Douglas Whyte mounted an unlikely 11th hour surge in the World Super Jockeys Series in Japan to finish tied for the championship with German Andreas Suborics yesterday.
The first ever tied result in the Hanshin feature came about after Whyte's last ride in the series when Brian's Letter won the Golden Boots race at 45-1 to earn him maximum points. "It's quite incredible," he said. "I thought I had shot all my bullets on the first day.
I thought that was probably it, but today my two slowest rides on paper returned a fifth and then a winner."
