The two-year fight between trainer Ivan Allan and ex-girlfriend Glory Clibbery over assets is still not over.
Allan has appointed lawyers in London to ask the family court to evict Glory and her mother from his farm The Gables, situated in New Market, 200 miles from London. The court will hear the case on the 23rd this month. The 48-year old Glory, who was originally Canadian, met Allan at a cocktail party in 1986. Their relationship ended in the summer of 2000. Allan asked the court to order Glory to leave the farm. On the basis of their 15-year live-in relationship, Glory claimed she was already married to Allan. However, Allan claimed she was only a prostitute. The court ruled in favour of Allan. However, Glory and her mother are still living in the farm. Additionally, after losing her last case, Glory is being chased by the court for the 130,000 pounds she owes in court fees. If she can't pay the fees, the court will declare her bankrupt.

HK Trainer *****'s former consort, Glory C*****, has repaid 16 years of high living by disclosing that he was a 'demon lover' who liked dressing up in Pretty Polly stockings and spanking her with a hair brush, as well as other practices which have no place in this chaste editorial enclave.
They fell out, she says, after she left wet tea bags on a kitchen table, and over her desire to own a houseboat.
Now he is trying to eject her, and her 76-year-old mother, from his 1.5 million pounds sterling mansion in Newmarket.
Miss C***** says she gave Mr **** - who thinks about sex "every second" - "the best years of my life.
"What he has done is unforgivable. He treats his horses with more respect."
Given that they never leave wet teabags lying around, or seek to own houseboats, maybe they deserve higher esteem than Glory.

The nonsense began at a cocktail party in December, 1985, when Ms. Clibbery first met Mr. Allan, one of the top horse trainers in the world.
A portly man, Mr. Allan had already made millions of dollars on the racing circuit, but his name was familiar to Ms. Clibbery for another reason: The year before, Mr. Allan took five bullets in the back during an assassination attempt in Singapore.
"I remember hearing the news reports about it," Ms. Clibbery said in an interview yesterday. "They said he was dead."
The pair spent most of the evening chatting, Ms. Clibbery remembers, until the 46-year-old offered to drive the young actress home.
nonsense and portly!! tony s. i hope none of your mates were responsible for the 5 bullets in the back. not very sporting at all, what???

Most of the articles are pretty much the same. One thing is clear though, this is a landmark case that has been widely reported. Many years later when people have all forgotten about the sex demon's horse racing accomplishments, lawyers will still be quoting this case. Talk about leaving a legacy...

Horse trainer's mistress now free to tell all
Court grants a former girlfriend of Ivan Allan the right to talkabout their stormy relationship
By Alfred Lee
STRAITS TIMES EUROPE BUREAU
LONDON - In a landmark ruling, the ex-mistress of former Singapore, now Hongkong- based racehorse trainer Ivan Allan has been freed to tell of their stormy relationship.
The Court of Appeal here rejected an appeal by the millionaire against an earlier High Court decision which lifted a suppression order against one of his former girlfriends, Glory Anne Clibbery.
In April last year, the actress gave an interview to the Daily Mail, which published it under the headline: I thought it was love, but I was no more than a sexual servant.
The two-page story quoted Miss Clibbery, 48, as saying she had travelled the world first-class and lived a champagne lifestyle with Mr Allan, 61.
She said her relationship with Mr Allan had been 'highly sexual' but he had warned her there were already three and a half women in his life.
The Daily Mail published a quote from Mr Allan's sworn statement to the Family Division of the High Court in which he said: 'The short truth of the matter is that the applicant has been one of my mistresses.
'I have, and have always had, several mistresses in different parts of the world.'
He revealed that these mistresses included a woman named Anna in Hongkong and Jenny from Malaysia, plus a number of 'short-time, casual liaisons'.
In Britain, High Court Family Division cases are nearly always held in chambers and are not reported by the press.
After the story appeared, Mr Allan obtained a High Court Family Division injunction preventing Miss Clibbery from talking about their relationship.
But she took court action to have it lifted.
On June 16, The Straits Times reported that the actress had won her High Court case to talk freely, adding that Mr Allan would appeal against the decision.
While dismissing Mr Allan's appeal, court president Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss said: 'The appeal raises fundamental issues over the procedures for hearing family cases in the High Court and in county courts round the country.
'The specific question raised on this appeal is whether the practice of hearing the majority of family cases in chambers has the consequence that information about those proceedings may not be reported.'
Emphasising the importance of open justice, Dame Elizabeth used the quote: 'Publicity is the very soul of justice. It is the keenest spur to exertion and the surest of all guards against improbity.'
The principle of open justice should apply to all courts, including family courts, she said.
Miss Clibbery's solicitor, Mr James Stewart, said: 'We have won a landmark case... Miss Clibbery's victory is a victory for the freedom of the press.'
Mr Allan's solicitor, Ms Elizabeth Hicks, said they were disappointed that the Court of Appeal had dismissed the appeal.
A statement released by her after the judgment on Wednesday quoted him as saying that he had begun proceedings to evict Miss Clibbery and her mother from his eight-bedroomed property in Suffolk.
He added: 'In our long association, I had never once used words of endearment and Miss Clibbery knew that there was no depth to our relationship.
'However, Miss Clibbery chose the good life and the soft options which eventually came to an end.'
Miss Clibbery, in turn, said: 'There was depth to our relationship, great depth, over a long period of time.
'I am over the moon at winning the case, which frees me to talk about our relationship.'

A blast from the past resurrected from the old Asian Racing Forum.

Ms Clibbery, 48, still lives with her 75-year-old mother in a £1.5m Newmarket home owned by Mr Allan's company, but he is taking legal action to have her evicted.
Ms Clibbery said she had spoken to the Mail because she wanted to highlight the lack of legal rights for unmarried partners. The paper quoted from Mr Allan's sworn statement for the proceedings over the flat: "We share nothing. As unfeeling as it sounds, I paid her to be at my disposal, in particular for sexual activity."
Ms Clibbery told the Daily Mail she had been portrayed "as little more than a prostitute. But we were involved for 15 years in what I considered to be a loving relationship."
She said after yesterday's ruling: "I am very pleased. I want the court system to be much more open and I think that's what the court wants."
Asked about Mr Allan's assertion that there was no "depth" to their relationship, she said: "I can prove otherwise. Ivan Allan knows the truth and sooner or later all the truth will come out." Her solicitor, James Stewart, said the judgment "means the end of much of the secrecy and confidentiality that has shrouded the family division".
In a statement issued through his solicitor, Mr Allan said: "The hearings could have been avoided if Miss Clibbery had respected my right to privacy and accepted that our relationship was over."
Lord Justice Thorpe said there were strong arguments for greater openness in family proceedings, but the arguments for and against were finely balanced. He called on the government to set up an interdepartmental review.

Allan washes hands of inquiry
'I will have two fingers for the panel and they would not be the victory sign!' says trainer after positive test linked to shampoo
http://www.designinsite.dk/gifs/k1511.jpg
ALAN AITKEN
Ivan Allan angrily declared yesterday that he would boycott his Isosorbide inquiry after it was revealed the substance originated in an anti-fungal shampoo provided by the Hong Kong Jockey Club's veterinary department.
On April 30, the trainer called for an adjournment of the stewards' inquiry into Cheers Hong Kong's positive test for the diuretic Isosorbide which caused the horse's scratching from the Hong Kong Gold Cup on February 23.
At that stage, Allan had been charged under Rule 140(1), dealing with a trainer's responsibility for ensuring his horse is free of prohibited substances from the day it has been declared to race until released by the stewards."
The inquiry is to resume tomorrow at 10am, but Allan said he would be absent.
"The persistent efforts of Director of Racing, Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges to uncover the cause of the Isosorbide positives in HKJC has revealed the source in a skin rash shampoo lotion Imaverol, which is freely distributed by the Jockey Club with veterinary approval and no withdrawal date for restriction of use," Allan said in a statement.
"I have always maintained that, if Mr Winfried was the captain of the Titanic, the iceberg would have sunk. This is yet another classic example of his precise management of racing. Fortunately, for all concerned, a legal dispute has been averted.
"Dr "Blackout" Watkins, the expert witness, gave evidence that the Isosorbide was a prohibited substance under Rule 136 because it was an osmotic diuretic and acted on the horse's urinary system.
"Sadly, his expertise did not know that the diuretic was spelt . . . S-H-A-M-P-0-0, and freely administered by his department.
"I will not attend the inquiry because I will have two fingers for the panel that charged me and they would not be the victory sign!"
Engelbrecht-Bresges said the Jockey Club had traced the origin of the Isosorbide since the inquiry was adjourned.
"I can confirm that the Security Director, Tim McNally, and I have informed Mr Allan that there has been a new development after testing the anti-fungal shampoo wash, Imaverol," he said. "However, one has to be mindful that the inquiry is ongoing and it had been hoped we could discuss this with Mr Allan in the appropriate place, the inquiry room."
Engelbrecht-Bresges confirmed that Keith Watkins, the chief veterinary surgeon, had been informed as had trainer, Alex Wong Siu-tan. Wong was fined $150,000 in January under Rule 140(1), after Winmark was withdrawn from a race at Happy Valley in December following the world's first Isosorbide finding in a pre-race tests.
Engelbrecht-Bresges said Wong could apply to have his case reopened.
Allan was scathing about the inquiry from the start and his anger has not abated.
"If I had not demanded an adjournment, the same panel of stewards which charged me would certainly have convicted me and fined me $150,000.
"It is lucky that I am a tiger and not a pussycat, and that I was determined to fight this," he said.
"In the end, the Hong Kong Jockey Club has been embarrassed by this but, I would suggest, surely only half as embarrassed as it would have been now with another guilty finding and fine over a substance given to trainers without restriction by the vet department."
The Post believes the shampoo finding came to light from evidence presented by one of Allan's stable staff, which led to its being tested.
Watkins gave evidence at both inquiries that Isosorbide was not contained in any substance used by the Club's veterinary department and the Post understands that the packaging of the lotion contains no reference to Isosorbide or anything like it.
Subsequent testing of Imaverol, however, has shown that it contains a significant amount of Isosorbide.
A positive test could result if the horse had a break in its skin in the area of application or if it licked the treated area, but not from normal external use. It is not believed to be a frequently used treatment.
Engelbrecht-Bresges would not be drawn on Allan's threatened boycott.
"The inquiry time will be set and the inquiry will take place. We will see if the trainer arrives or not," he said.
The rules do not necessarily compel Allan to attend, unless he is requested to do so by the stewards.
Until an upgrading of the Club's drug testing laboratory this season, there was no way of testing for the human drug Isosorbide. The two cases this season are the only ones recorded anywhere.
I'm still not going, I have reached my limit - Allan
'I could lose my cool and explode,' says trainer of refusal to attend today's inquiry into Cheers Hong Kong's positive test
ALAN AITKEN
Trainer Ivan Allan again declared yesterday that he will defy an instruction to attend the Cheers Hong Kong inquiry when it resumes this morning and launched a new tirade over the conduct of the hearing.
On April 29, Allan called for an adjournment to the stewards' inquiry into Cheers Hong Kong returning a positive to the osmotic diuretic Isosorbide prior to his scratching from the Hong Kong Gold Cup on February 23. At that stage, Allan had been charged under Rule 140(1), dealing with a trainer's responsibility for "ensuring that any horse trained by him is free of any prohibited substance on the day on which it has been declared to race until such time as such horse is released by the stewards after it has raced".
The trainer said yesterday he had insisted on adjournment of the hearing when it "became obvious to me that, regardless of all the proof and evidence in my favour, this panel was going to have me charged, convicted and fined. Fortunately, the source of the prohibited Isosorbide has been revealed as the Jockey Club's veterinary department. Can anyone blame me for losing total confidence with the inquiry panel?"
Allan announced on Tuesday he would not attend the reopening of the hearing today, after it was discovered the Isosorbide may have originated in an anti-fungal shampoo lotion, Imaverol, distributed unconditionally to trainers by the Jockey Club's veterinary department.
Another trainer, Alex Wong Siu-tan, had been fined $150,000 under the same rule in January after his runner, Winmark, was withdrawn from a race in December due to a pre-race Isosorbide positive. They are the world's only two Isosorbide cases.
In a fresh release yesterday, Allan said he had received a letter from chief stipendiary steward Jamie Stier pointing out the trainer would be in breach of Rule 155 (27) if he did not attend the hearing. That rule states: "No person shall fail to attend or remain at any inquiry, appeal, investigation or protest/objection hearing when required to do so . . . "
However, Allan reiterated he would not be at the inquiry as he feared losing his temper. "I have attended three separate inquiries concerning Cheers Hong Kong's positive to Isosorbide, and I gave all members of the panel my full co-operation and respect. The transcripts of the inquiries will confirm this," his statement read. "However, every human being has his limitations. I have become vulnerable because, my emotions have been stretched to the limit and I am aware that I could lose my cool and explode. For this reason, I will not attend the inquiry, regardless. My assistant trainer, Danny Shum [Chap-shing], will represent me. I will be sending a letter to every steward on the Jockey Club Board of Stewards explaining the unfair and unprofessional series of events. I cannot believe the Jockey Club ever intended that a trainer should be treated in this manner."
When told of Allan's allegations yesterday, Stier replied: "There is an ongoing inquiry into the test results from Cheers Hong Kong. These are procedural matters which form part of that inquiry and therefore it would not be proper to make any comment at this stage."
Allan outlined several points of complaint over the handling of the inquiry, including the testing of the B sample. He claims he was not permitted to have the sample tested at a "highly reputed laboratory in the United States". However, the rule book does provide the following guidelines for the B-testing procedure: "Instruction 43 (2) The trainer will be given the right to select from a list approved by the stewards of the Jockey Club another official racing laboratory for the purpose of conducting a confirmatory test of the same sample; (4) The analysis will be performed by the staff of the selected official racing laboratory and will be confined to testing for the presence of the substance reported by the senior racing chemist."
Allan alleged that "no DNA tests were performed to ensure that my rights were protected and there would be no error when the samples were opened and tested in Australia".
Allan also said: "I produced every possible evidence to convince the panel I was not guilty and had taken every precaution. I produced stable records of medication for my horses and explained they were even colour-coded to ensure no errors."

"CHEERS HONG KONG" INQUIRY
The Stewards today concluded their inquiry into the analyst's finding of Isosorbide in the blood and urine samples taken from CHEERS HONG KONG, a declared runner in the Hong Kong Gold Cup at Sha Tin on 23 February 2003.
An inquiry was commenced on 23 February 2003 at the Sha Tin Racecourse following a report from Dr T S M Wan, Senior Racing Chemist, that the pre-race urine sample obtained from CHEERS HONG KONG was found upon analysis to contain Isosorbide. Acting on this report, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of CHEERS HONG KONG and directed that further urine and blood samples be taken from the horse under post-race conditions. It is noted Mr Allan suggested CHEERS HONG KONG be withdrawn when advised of the analyst's findings. The additional samples were analysed by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory and on 28 February 2003 Dr Wan advised these samples were found upon analysis to contain Isosorbide. He said the corresponding water control was negative. On receipt of this advice, Mr I W Allan, trainer of CHEERS HONG KONG, was informed by the Stewards of the analyst's finding. The B-samples of urine and blood together with five blind samples of each were forwarded to Mr A Stenhouse of the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory in Sydney for confirmatory testing. On 3 April 2003, the Stewards received from Mr Stenhouse a certificate of analysis in respect of the referred samples of urine and blood he had analysed. Mr Stenhouse confirmed that one of each of the urine and blood samples he had analysed were found to contain Isosorbide while all other samples were negative. The samples found to contain Isosorbide were identified to be those obtained from CHEERS HONG KONG.
On 29 April 2003, the Stewards continued their inquiry into the analyst's finding of Isosorbide in the blood and urine samples taken from CHEERS HONG KONG under post-race conditions on 23 February 2003, and after hearing evidence from Dr K L Watkins, Senior Veterinary Surgeon, decided Isosorbide is a prohibited substance in accordance with the Hong Kong Jockey Club Rules of Racing. On that day, Mr Allan was charged with a breach of Hong Kong Jockey Club Rule 140(1) in that as the trainer of CHEERS HONG KONG, he had failed to ensure that horse was free of any prohibited substance on 23 February 2003, the day it had been declared to run in the Hong Kong Gold Cup at Sha Tin Racecourse. Mr Allan pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted an adjournment to consider the matter.
At today's inquiry, further evidence was taken from Mr Danny Shum, Assistant Trainer to Mr Allan, and Mr Chung Chim Ki, Work Rider I. Further evidence was also taken from Dr Wan, Dr Watkins and Dr W H Chan, Veterinary Surgeon. Evidence was also taken from Dr B D Stewart, Senior Veterinary Officer.
The evidence disclosed that on 31 May 2002, the Racing Laboratory developed the capability to detect Isosorbide. Having developed this capability, the Racing Laboratory did not advise any other department within the Club of this capability. Dr Wan said he checked the contents listed by the manufacturers of medications dispensed from the Equine Hospital and this showed no treatments were labelled as containing Isosorbide. Therefore he did not feel it necessary to consult with the Veterinary Department. Dr Wan said the testing of samples for the presence of Isosorbide submitted to the Racing Laboratory commenced on 1 June 2002 and since that time only two samples out of approximately 10,000 analysed were found to contain Isosorbide. After intensive research, Dr Wan was able to say sorbitan esters could be a possible source of the Isosorbide findings. Further research showed Isosorbide can be manufacturing impurities of sorbitan esters.
Dr Watkins had told the inquiry held on 29 April 2003 Isosorbide was in his opinion a prohibited substance, he said at that time he was of the belief that the Equine Hospital did not dispense any treatments which would give rise to a positive finding for Isosorbide.
At the inquiry held on 23 February 2003, Mr Allan supplied the Stewards with a list containing all treatments administered to CHEERS HONG KONG. Each of these substances were analysed with a negative finding for the presence of Isosorbide. On 23 February 2003, samples of feed, bedding and other materials were also obtained from the stables of CHEERS HONG KONG and these were subsequently reported upon analysis to be negative for the presence of Isosorbide.
On 18 March 2003, the CCTV security video footage of Mr Allan's stable was again viewed. This showed ointment being applied to CHEERS HONG KONG by Mr Chung on Tuesday 18 February 2003. Mr Shum on this day confirmed the ointments being applied by Mr Chung to CHEERS HONG KONG were either Imaverol skin wash or Flamazine. Imaverol skin wash is used to treat skin rashes on horses and Flamazine is applied to abrasions.
At the inquiry on 29 April 2003, Mr Chung said he had applied Imaverol skin wash to CHEERS HONG KONG as the horse had a skin rash. He also said on occasions he had applied Flamazine ointment to CHEERS HONG KONG when the horse had an infected heel.
On 13 May 2003, samples of Imaverol and Flamazine were delivered to the Racing Laboratory at the request of the Stewards to be analysed for the presence of Isosorbide and Isosorbide esters. Prior to 19 May 2003, administration trials were conducted by Dr Stewart using Imaverol skin wash and Flamazine. On 19 May 2003, Dr Wan reported Imaverol on analysis was found to contain Isosorbide and there was also evidence for the presence of an ester of Isosorbide. On 20 May 2003, Dr Wan reported Flamazine was found to contain minute traces of Isosorbide which in his opinion would not alone give rise to a positive finding of Isosorbide. Dr Wan said the results of the administration trials showed, given a suitable route of exposure, Imaverol skin wash could well have produced the Isosorbide findings in the samples of CHEERS HONG KONG . Mr Allan was advised of the analyst's finding in relation to Imaverol on 20 May 2003. On that day, Mr Allan was also directed to attend today's inquiry.
At the commencement of the proceedings today, Mr Allan was called, however, he was not in attendance. Mr Shum advised the Stewards Mr Allan had authorized him to be his representative. The Stewards considered this and decided in view of the fresh evidence which would be put before the inquiry, it was appropriate for the inquiry to proceed in Mr Allan's absence.
Dr Watkins today told the inquiry that the Club's Veterinary Department started purchasing, prescribing and dispensing Imaverol in December 1983. He said since then 5,565 bottles of diluted Imaverol had been dispensed. He advised the inquiry that since June 2002, 142 bottles of diluted Imaverol had been dispensed to Mr Allan's stable with 12 bottles being dispensed in January 2003. He said the only active ingredient listed in Imaverol by the supplier is enilconazole which accounts for about 10% of its volume. He said Flamazine lists in its ingredients polysorbates. He said based on this information he had no reason to believe the use of Imaverol or Flamazine would give rise to a positive test result of Isosorbide. Dr Watkins said as a result of Isosorbide subsequently being found to be present in Imaverol and Flamazine when these treatments were analysed by the Senior Racing Chemist, it could explain the positive test results of the samples obtained from CHEERS HONG KONG.
Dr Chan said that he had signed forms authorizing Mr Allan's stable acquiring Imaverol from the Equine Hospital. He said he had advised Mr Allan's stable that Imaverol could be used without restriction because of the advice he received that it did not contain prohibited substances. Dr Chan said on the evidence that had been presented to the inquiry today, he believed it was reasonable that the positive test results for the samples obtained from CHEERS HONG KONG had arisen as a result of the application of Imaverol to the horse.
On the basis of the evidence before the Stewards today, that being it is reasonable to believe the presence of Isosorbide, a prohibited substance, in the samples taken from CHEERS HONG KONG on 23 February 2003 did arise from the use of Imaverol and the possible coupling effect with Flamazine. Imaverol and Flamazine were supplied by the Jockey Club Equine Hospital with advice from the Veterinary Department these treatments could be used without restriction. The Panel therefore concluded, having given due consideration to the facts and evidence placed before them today, that the charge against Mr Allan could not be sustained.
However, the Racing Stewards will recommend to the Licensing Committee that they require Mr Allan to appear before them to determine if through comments attributed to him in the press regarding this inquiry Mr Allan has acted in a manner which was prejudicial to the integrity, proper conduct or good reputation of horse racing in The Hong Kong SAR [Hong Kong Jockey Club Rule of Racing 155(3)].
Further and alternatively, the Racing Stewards will ask the Licensing Committee to consider if Mr Allan has breached Rule 155(24) as a result of comments attributed to him in the press regarding this inquiry. Rule 155(24) states:-
"No person shall be guilty of any behaviour or conduct which, in the opinion of the Stewards of the Jockey Club or the Stewards, might have the effect of discrediting horse racing, or which brings, or could bring into disrepute the good name of the Club or any activity under the control and management of the Club."
Further the Racing Stewards will recommend to the Executive Director, Racing that a review be conducted of the procedures adopted when the Racing Laboratory develops the capability to identify substances which previously could not be detected.

And if they are taling about discrediting horse racing..what about the HKJC themeselves treating ( successful) punters with such disrespect and stupidity...thus bringing about a bad name for the club both locally and internationally?

Inquiry Result – Ivan Allan
A Panel of Stewards of the Jockey Club, who are also members of the Licensing Committee, today heard the request from the Racing Stewards of the Sha Tin meeting of 23 February 2003 to determine if through comments attributed to Trainer Ivan Allan in the press regarding the CHEERS HONG KONG inquiry he had breached Hong Kong Jockey Club Rule of Racing 155(3) and to consider, further and alternatively, if he had breached Rule of Racing 155(24) as a result of such comments.
The Panel carefully considered all the evidence taken in this matter together with further statements taken in the hearing today.
The Panel was sympathetic to the pressure and stress that Mr Allan had been under, extenuated by his family circumstances. The Panel believed that the entire incident and the evidence placed before them today might have pointed to possible areas of improvement in which inquiries of this nature might be conducted in the future. Nonetheless, the Panel considered it unacceptable for a licensed person of Mr Allan's standing to have made statements with a view to publication in which he had called a member of the Management a liar; he had inferred that the Chairman and the Racing Steward of the original Panel of the Sha Tin meeting of 23 February 2003 were biased against him and that the Club was manipulating the evidence so as to ensure that he would be charged and convicted. It was the view of the Panel that such statements or allegations were totally unfounded and unjustified.
As a result, the Panel decided that as a consequence of issuing statements to the press during the CHEERS HONG KONG inquiry, Mr Allan’s conduct was in the opinion of this Panel such that it prejudiced the good reputation of horse racing in the Hong Kong SAR and accordingly he was found to have breached Rule of Racing 155(3); and further, that as a result of these statements, Mr Allan was found guilty of conduct which in the opinion of this Panel had had the effect of discrediting horse racing and accordingly he was found to have breached Rule of Racing 155(24).
In considering the penalty, the Panel took into account that the further statements from Mr Allan today, his long and distinguished standing in racing, his very substantial contribution to racing in Hong Kong and that this was the first occasion that he had committed offences under these Rules. As a result, the Panel decided to impose on Mr Allan a fine of $100,000.
APPEAL- Trainer Ivan Allan
Trainer Ivan Allan has lodged notice of appeal against the decision of the Panel of Stewards of the Jockey Club made on 5 June 2003 to impose on him a fine of $100,000 for a breach of Rule 155(3) through comments attributed to him in the Press regarding the CHEERS HONG KONG inquiry and a breach of Rule 155(24) as a result of such comments.

Appeal - Trainer Ivan Allan
21 August 2003
The Stewards of the Jockey Club today heard the appeal lodged by Trainer Ivan Allan against the decision of the Panel of Stewards made on 5 June 2003 to impose on him a fine of $100,000 for a breach of Rule 155(3) through comments attributed to him in the press regarding the CHEERS HONG KONG Inquiry and a breach of Rule 155(24) as a result of such comments.
The Appeal Panel carefully considered all the evidence taken in this case together with the further statements taken in the appeal today.
When deciding, the Panel took into account that it was Mr Allan's first offence under these Rules and that he has been a good ambassador and strong supporter of Hong Kong racing. Nonetheless, the Panel was of the view that the comments attributed to him in the press were extremely serious and due to this reason decided to dismiss Mr Allan's appeal and ordered the deposit to be forfeited.
In his appeal today, Mr Allan raised the issue of money spent by him in preparation of his defence to the original charge that was subsequently dropped by the Racing Stewards as a result of the evidence that Isosorbide was contained in the anti-fungal skin wash, Imaverol. The Panel advised Mr Allan that it will be entirely up to him if he would like to pursue this with the Club and if that happened the Club, when considering a response, will no doubt take into account the totality of events including his apology at today's hearing.

Tycoon wins right to evict mistress

Actress and her mother forced out of nine-bedroom house by racehorse owner, writes Joshua Rozenberg.
Ivan Allan, the racehorse owner and trainer who has been involved in a long-running series of legal battles with his former mistress, won a court order yesterday ousting her from another of his properties.
Glory Clibbery, 51, had moved into The Gables, in Newmarket, Suffolk, with her mother, Peggy, 78, after being evicted from the trainer's flat in Piccadilly, London, in 2001.
Miss Clibbery said her mother had lived there for 15 years and had been promised by Mr Allan, 63, that she could call it home for life.
But yesterday a High Court judge gave the Canadian-born actress and her mother until the end of August to leave the nine-bedroom house.
Mr Justice Blackburne ruled that when Mr Allan found himself barred by her from his Piccadilly flat after their relationship ended in 2000, he was entitled to give her notice to quit The Gables.
The judge said Mr Allan was also entitled to damages from Miss Clibbery and her mother for using the property in the intervening four years.
There may have to be a further hearing to decide a figure but lawyers estimated the mother and daughter could face a bill of at least £100,000.
Miss Clibbery said yesterday that she was receiving medical treatment and would not be able to leave at the end of August. She had a leg amputated less than than two months ago after complications caused by high blood pressure.
"We will not leave this house alive," she told The Daily Telegraph.
After Mr Allan won his fight for repossession of the flat at the High Court, Miss Clibbery told her story in a newspaper, saying Mr Allan had treated her as a "sexual servant".
She claimed she had decided to speak out after finding that she was one of four mistresses Mr Allan had installed in properties around the world.
In 2002, Miss Clibbery was told by the Court of Appeal that she could publish court papers in which she said Mr Allan described her as "little more than a prostitute".
Mr Allan won a judgment last year at the High Court that he was entitled to possession of The Gables but the Court of Appeal ruled that Miss Clibbery was entitled to a full hearing to decide the issue. Miss Clibbery returned to court in a wheelchair earlier this month to argue that she was entitled to stay.
But Mr Justice Blackburne said that, because of her anger, Miss Clibbery "had great difficulty in responding, in a straightforward or coherent manner, to the questions put to her" in the witness box.
"Her short but troubling performance as a witness has inevitably put a question mark over the whole of her evidence," he said.
The judge also quoted from a witness statement provided by Mr Allan. He said: "In my life I have never married nor had any desire so to do. I have, however, had a number of relationships with women in various countries - some serious and some not."
The millionaire trainer said he met Miss Clibbery in 1986 when they came to "an arrangement".
"I told her that if she wanted to be my companion when I was in England, I would look after her financially. It was nothing more than a straightforward chequebook relationship. Glory agreed to this."
Mr Justice Blackburne said Mr Allan added "to this rather bleak picture of himself" under cross-examination.
"He said he never used terms of endearment towards Glory Clibbery. He acknowledged that she tried to maintain more than a chequebook relationship with him but that he never encouraged this."
Mr Allan also said that he disliked Mrs Clibbery but tolerated her because she was Miss Clibbery's mother.

1.Don't have to waste your money buying glory's book.to find the answers.
Firstly, Singapore Police Force couldn't
find anything with regards to the shooting. So how could she possibly know in the book she is going to write.
So much have been say about her eviction from the Gables, but do you know how much she made from leasing out rooms to tenants at the Gables with breakfast provided?
The relationship between Alan & Glory
started in 1986 and Ivan was shot in
1983. To set the record straight , how could she possibly know that she claimed to know which she is going to write in her book ? Besides the Singapore Police don't have a clue to it.
How can she be the expert? Must have been the court case making her see stars.
I know who shot Ivan because he knows and he told me. I'll give you a hint. He lived in K.L. He went to prison for his illegal book making. Ivan ruined his life slowly and methodically but could not prove it was him who hired the killers. As for how much was made with the bed and breakfast. For ten days during the Tattersals sales last year, we took over load from Tattersals at £25. a person for bed and full breakfast. This barely paid for the cost of buying new single beds. The ones we had were worn out. They were not good quality and were bought twenty years ago. All the furniture in the bedrooms was of very poor quality and should have been replaced long ago but £1000.00 a month doesn't go very far in maintaining a property of this size. I was working in the Far East writing a feature film called: FORCE 168 MALAYSIA in 1983. I heard the radio announcer say Ivan was shot dead. Imagine my surprise to meet him in London in December 1985.
Ivan told me that diuretics get rid of drugs quickly out of the system. I understand his close business associate Winfred helped him locate the cause of the diuretic. Ivan is always his most manical when in danger of being caught out. Read my book: WRONG SIDE OF THE TRACK to find out the true story behind a Hong Kong horse called 'Benjii'.
Sounds like a juicy read Glory...where can I buy a copy?
If Ivan settles with my mother I have an agreement with the Publisher not to release the book until Ivan and his mother are passed into Spirit.
I hope for everyone's sake that will be his decision. He only has until the end of August to come to his amoeba like senses!!
If we are granted a stay and an appeal and win the appeal, there could be a further delay of 6 months but most of the contents of the book in tantalising detail will become available shortly on a web site. I will post the address here just before the end of August.
There will be a fun game to play at a very nominal fee for those interested. It will involve 'playing a part' from a choice of roles to gain information that is already in the public domain (but otherwise difficult to come by).
You will be offered a casting choice of roles to 'audition' for including: Mike Dillon, Mike Ryan, Lester Piggott, Henry Cecil, Winfred, Virginia Tiu, Jenny Cheng, Anna Choong, Dr Uhi 'Patti' Bandara, Edwina Choi, and various other mostly racing, football, gambling, international owners, glitteratai or scoundrels and their wives and girlfriends and various Solicitors, Barristers, Queen's Council, Judges and ordinary members of an internet jury complete the entire cast so many parts can be tried out for.
My mother and I will play ourselves. This game is 'cheat' proof (so the guys who want to play Ivan may be at a disadvantage?) Who knows, maybe your name may be among the complete list of names mentioned in the book, and you can have the amusing prospect of playing yourself in the internet game. The nominal fee will help towards our financial survival. Watch this space! ;)

Did your legal case (or any of them if there are several) make it into the law reports as a reported case? If so do you have the reference for it?
I am not sure why people go to court. It makes the lawyers rich but the lawyers bear little or no risk. I suppose people outside the law don't really understand the setup. Charles Dickens once said something along the lines that the common law is designed so lawyers can make more work for themselves (but of course he said it much more eloquently than that).
If you go to Google and type in Clibbery V. Allan law report. It should come up. I didn't feel there was any other choice but to go to law. I was frightened and I had very poor advice from a show business lawyer who had talked me into forgiving Ivan after a serious domestic violence incident in 1994. It turned out Raymond Tooth was in horse racing and was trying to sell Ivan race horses for Hong Kong! I will fight with 'No win, no fee' lawyers when Ivan is finished blowing off steam. They are more anxious to win. It costs to get any kind of education.

Horse trainer kicks ex-lover out
British court grants Ivan Allan, formerly based in Singapore, order to evict woman and her mum
By Ben Nadarajan
A BRITISH court has given a multi-millionaire racehorse owner the go-ahead to kick his former lover off his turf.
NO LOVE LOST
Former actress Glory Anne Clibbery had made more than one attempt to live off Mr Ivan Allan (below) after their relationship ended.
She had sued Mr Allan for the right to stay on in his Mayfair home in Central London. But her petition was dismissed in April 2001.
She then went to live at The Gables, where her mother had been staying since 1987.
Mr Ivan Allan, 63, obtained a High Court possession order last month against Ms Glory Anne Clibbery and her mother, forcing both out of his £1.5 million (S$4.7 million) home in Newmarket, a horse-racing town in Suffolk.
The two women have until the end of this month to move out of Mr Allan's nine-bedroom mansion known as The Gables.
The court heard that the Clibberys had abused their stay in Mr Allan's house, renting out several rooms for £600 a month each and even starting a bed and breakfast business there without his knowledge.
Ms Clibbery, 51, could also face up to £100,000 in damages for using the property in the four years.
The Canadian-born former actress has said that she will appeal.
The jet-setting and flamboyant Mr Allan was based in Singapore for many years, graduating with a law degree from the National University of Singapore in 1965.
He now alternates between Britain, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
While in Singapore, the tycoon lived in a two-storey terrace house in Swiss Club Road near the former Singapore Turf Club.
A horse trainer who groomed a string of champion stallions, Mr Allan was shot four times in his stomach at point-blank range outside his Singapore home in 1983 but survived.
No one was ever arrested.
He recently announced his retirement at the end of the current horse-racing season, citing his 84-year-old mother's declining health as the reason.
Ms Clibbery was Mr Allan's mistress for 14 years before their affair became unsaddled in 2000.
This is her second failed attempt to continue living off her lover after their relationship ended.
She had sued Mr Allan, who is a bachelor, for the right to stay on in his Mayfair home in Central London. But her petition was dismissed in April 2001 after the court ruled that the couple had never cohabited.
After that failed suit, Ms Clibbery went to live in The Gables, where her mother had been staying since 1987.
Mother and daughter claimed Mr Allan had promised Mrs Peggy Clibbery, 78, that she could stay 'as long as she wished'.
But Mr Allan denied any such promise, saying he only tolerated Mrs Clibbery putting up there because she was his mistress' mother.
Mr Allan's lawyer, Ms Elizabeth Hicks, said on behalf of her client: 'Ms Clibbery chose the good life and the soft options which eventually came to an end.'
During the court hearing, Mr Allan painted their relationship as one purely based on sex and money.
Calling their 14-year affair a 'chequebook relationship', Mr Allan said he paid Ms Clibbery £1,000 a month to be at his beck and call when he was in Britain.
He also claimed that Ms Clibbery knew he had 'other serious women' in his life.
Mr Allan had previously told the court: 'I have always made absolutely clear to all the women I have ever had a relationship with that there is no prospect of marriage nor should they ever expect exclusivity.'
His callous remarks upset Ms Clibbery, who recently had her left leg amputated because of diabetes. She said he made her out to be 'little more than a prostitute'.
To her, their time together had been a 'loving relationship'.
But the feelings seem to have been all hers. Mr Allan told the British media recently: 'In the 14 years of our association, I never used a word of endearment verbally or in writing.
'No woman could be foolish enough to believe there was love. It was sex and friendship and financial assistance and nothing more. In Asian terms, Glory was precisely a concubine.'
'No woman could be foolish enough to believe there was love. It was sex and friendship and financial assistance and nothing more. In Asian terms, Glory was precisely a concubine.' [/B][/QUOTE] No real man would call a woman a whore and not expect eventually to pay for it, in one way or another. By his own petard Ivan Allan has made himself a pariah. He is a joke in England and without me, (loved or not), he is missing the 'punch' line? Ivan retired in 1986 when I would not get involved with him in a 'long distance' relationship. His cousin John took up his license. Ivan trained through Chris Wall in England and so it is reasonable to assume he will train in Hong Kong through his former assistant of ten years, Danny Shum. (Danny is a good guy. Maybe with a little independence he will stand up to Ivan. Mr. Shum knows what it is like to have dreams from the street level and how wrong it is for Ivan to have contempt for the ordinary punter when he manipulates the results of races, and 'honest' gamblers lose what little they have to someone they put their faith in, who betrays them. Why have none of the women Ivan has claimed danced in a sexual chorus line with him, made statements to the Courts in support of his claims? Don't believe everything you read in the papers. Those who stand by Ivan will 'die' (if only metaporically) with him, 'roasted' on a feminist intellectual grill, served up as a salad called 'lettuce' be. If you care nothing for what women feel, know this: Men who talk about it, don't get it.:(

glory i enjoyed reading your postings. i hope it was good for you during the 14 yrs. you seem very bitter and i do not blame you especially after what you have been through with the courts and all that money spent. at least if you got emotional or physical enjoyment out of it then it would have made it all worthwhile.
The court heard that the Clibberys had abused their stay in Mr Allan's house, renting out several rooms for £600 a month each and even starting a bed and breakfast business there without his knowledge.
Is this true Glory?

Is this true Glory? No it is not true. For only 10 days last year Mum took in a few lads and lasses during the Tattersals sales and charged £25.00 per person for bed and full cooked breakfast. She volunteered this to the Court. It was an experiment and great fun. The money was spent to pay for some new single beds because the beds were over 20 years old and worn out. Two men have lived on the top floor in exchange for doing work around the house and grounds and guarding the property when we are away. The first was a friend of Ivan's called Campbell Simpson and he patched and painted rotting window frames and doors. The present fellow has paid about £325.00 a month on average and Ivan knows did various work, such as plastering in the house to pay the remainder of his room and board. This chap stood between my mother and agents Ivan paid to frighten her. One of them kept knocking on the door with cash offers to move out. When he refused he was told: "You are up against powerful people; you will get it up the ass." We learned today the documents have gone into Court to apply for a stay and the appeal and will go before a Lord Justice for consideration. Ivan told the Court this house means nothing to him. He knows it means everything to us. What will be, will be.

Glory, did you have a share in The Gables? From what iI have read, you don't. As such, how can you or your mum for that matter rent out rooms without the consent of the owner. If you still owned a place of your own and had a long term guest staying there, i'm sure you would be pissed if you found out he was leasing out part of the property with all proceeds going into his pocket, irrespective of whether he had to repair the place or not, but it would be a totally different matter if you were consulted before hand. Oh by the way you did not reply to my earlier posting as to whether you had emotional or physical enjoyment during your 14yrs with that clown boyfriend of yours. How did you get started with him anyway?
Historically the agreement regarding the properties did not require me or my mother to ask permission to do anything. Yes, both my mother and I have a considerable interest in the properties. Curiously, Ivan does not have the interest in the property that he has claimed. Did I enjoy anything emotionally or physically in the relationship in 14 years? I do not recall. Maybe in 20 or 30 years I will not feel like projectile vomiting when I hear his name. A clown...perhaps in a menacing way.
"Mum took in a few lads and lasses"
hey Glory you are speaking a different language to most of us here ( those readers who are english now speak a more int'l version of same )
" whether you had emotional or physical enjoyment during your 14yrs with that clown boyfriend of yours.?"
i think of course she did --- even if Ivan would not admit to any love for Glory it seems logical to assume she loved him or they would not have stayed together for > 15 yrs.
i have never met Ivan but several of my friends have ( and he would be well aware of who i am ).
Glory did you ever hear of an Indonesian-Chinese bookmaker living in and operating out of singapore --- name i think Richard Lim ( but tunginbum can correct me if my memory failing ). 10 yrs ago he would have described Ivan as pleasant, likeable and charming --- except on raceday when he would supposedly betray his own grandmother for a dollar.
"clown" --- interesting description. my opinion of Ivan has declined over the years --- partly because of the Glory case. despite this i do not believe she has much of a legal case !!!!
also i hope she can find some sort of closure ( by revenge if that is the only thing that will satisfy her ).
Maybe in 20 or 30 years I will not feel like projectile vomiting when I hear his name
not original but great line anyway!!

not original but great line anyway!! Lads and lasses are like Mafoos in Hong Kong. The people of all ages who care for the well being of the horses, day to day.
I do remember meeting a Richard Lim, in Singapore with Ivan more than 10 years ago. A friend of Ivan's was there called Chia Hung Boo. Tell me more?
Who needs revenge when Ivan is so determined to 'self destruct'? The problem is he is bringing down everyone who ever cared, with him. Ivan is a 'spoiler' and by the time you understand to what extent it is nearly too late.
There was a great sexual chemistry between us that surprised us both. I didn't get involved other than as a friend for a year after we met and it should have remained just a friendship because it appeared he just wanted a trophy girlfriend to impress his mates. I remember that first kiss on October 26th 1986 in Green park but everything else was in one way or another disappointing. Did I love him? Did he love me? Two people only know or ever will know. The rest is conjecture.
I promise you that we do have a legal case supported by copious documents but we are not fighting just Ivan. He has influence and knows the secrets of really powerful men and against that 'old tie network' it is an uphill battle even for 'pioneer stock'!
Closure? Good name for an Ivan horse in combination with 'Citi" or 'Clever' or 'Cliche'....

Few things that aint quite right...or not mentioned
Ivan retired in 1986 when I would not get involved with him in a 'long distance' relationship. His cousin John took up his license.
Ivan infact retired once before this , when Tan Hock Chong became Chairman of STC, he refused to train under his reign. Ivan then had his horses with Charlie Read for this duration Charlie was Ivans "B trainer for many many years and who in fact still has horses for Ivan now.
His cousin was a complete dope, and now is a foreman for a trainer in Spore that was never going to work.
Ivan went to University in Penang not Singapore and had no interest in horse training until his father passed away, even then when he 1st got his license he was in fact only a front, with his dead fathers Jockey training the horses while Ivan was going to Uni. The stewards told the rider either be a jockey or the trainer u cant be both and let Junior as he was known at least look like he has some say. Didnt take him long to learn although it was quite a few years before he went to do great things his first feature winner was a horse called "Pizarro" and he went on to become the great trainer he is.
Probably his 1st great horse was a horse called "Jumbo Jet" a horse he fluked getting, was driving out of a stables in NZ after knocking back numerous horses on the property he saw this horse standing in a paddock, and bought it. Would have to have been the best hose ever to have raced in Singapore...his 1st major win was Tunkus Gold Cup with 7 11, won his next classic with with 9 stone 6 with Lester Piggot in the saddle then his 3rd classic with 10 stone 8 then his last classic with 11 stone something. Was weighted at 12 stone odd in the Singapore Gold Cup and Ivan scratched him to race in the Washing International which was the one true international race at the time. Piggot rode him and he fell, amazingly Ivan copped his right whack in that race, he promised Jumbos Jets regular rider he would be riding him in USA, while all along having Piggot in line for the ride. Regular rider was the same jockey who rode for his father back n the 60's when his father passed on. That jockeys wife told Ivan b4 he went to USA with Jumbo Jet "hope he falls over"...budabing.... he fell over. One thing about him as a trainer he was too clever for them in Singapore and certainly proved that in HK as well.

great post The Battler.

he may have been a great trainer but from all reports he does not sound much chop as a human being.
did you know Richard Lim ??

A fact with Ivan is , when an owner gives him a horse to train its no longer the owners horse it becomes Ivans horse the owner has no say. Cant criticise him, he is the boss and if your involved you should realise that. His mother is the most important person in his life and he looks after his younger brother Roddy very very well. he is hard no doubt but you wont find many people who dislike him in Spore or Msia.

True for the most part. Roddy has also been very good to Ivan and put up with a tremendous amount. Whose porn magazines do you suppose Roddy got caught with in Singapore? Who covered for big brother? Do you suppose Ivan would have taken a rap for Roddy? Ivan's Mum is a nervous and physcological wreck...She was once upon a time a strong and confident person. Roddy, 'Auntie Pet', Cousin Jackie, Pauline and I and some of Ivan's closest friends, like Aussie Jeff, were prisoners of concience to someone who has none. Ivan virtually always keeps a half interest in horses he buys for his owners. In Hong Kong it is against the rules for trainers to own horses. If there is anything Ivan loves it is finding a way around a rule.

For the most part is right....what part was incorrect?
Porn Magazines?? lol who hasnt had porn magazines in their life. Glory how do u think Roddy has survived since being a apprentice, Ivan has kept him and still does to this very day, and its got nothing to do with him taking the blame for him over porn. Its simple if you have anything to do with Ivan you have to play by his rules or not play at all, he makes the rules!!!
True Ivan has little concience but surely you had your eyes open and new what he is like, coz he certainly hasnt changed since Ive known him. he is a loyal Boss, his driver was with him for years same as his secretary, even though he was based in HK and they are based in Sing.

You have the Ivan Allan brain washing down pat but don't believe everything he says or you will enable him. He relys on intelligent, good natured people who want to believe he is something special to 'operate'. As for not having a gun to my head, I have had that literally in Singapore with Ivan. So don't talk shit to me and as for believing I was the only one, the only one to what? So, you are male. Be careful or I will figure out exactly who you are and why you think the way you do. Ivan has two kinds of people in his life and the second kind he controls by keeping their secrets. (I no longer tolerate bullying from anybody.)

Battler...why would Glory be silly if Ivan never told her that he was with other women? Surely the onus is on Ivan to be truthful...and Glory shouldnt be chastised if she was duped.
No problems if there is some honesty and Glory decides to accept the situation...fair enough.
If he had other ladies parked around the world for his pleasure ( and said nothing) it tells you that he didnt want to risk losing her.
Perhaps he thought more of Glory than he is letting on.
He must be a dead set dope ...( despite his superior training skills) ...what man in their right mind would think any woman ( unless she was totally desperate and screwed up in the head) would stay with a man for 14 years ( for f&*ks sake) as part of a business arangement?
Why would he want to put up with such a cold blooded relationship?

It's all u say , we listen. BUt why Allan got
to fall out with u ? It take him 14 years to be bored with u ? Don't think so. After 14
years to dumped u? Comeon come out with the facts instead of say Ivan this and that. Got something to do with something
you're not telling. You treat Ivan well and know who's boss, he will treat u well, but if you try to be funny, then you are asking for trouble. Thats Ivan.
there is some logic to your points Horse's Mouth.
"Mr Justice Blackburne ruled that when Mr Allan found himself barred by her from his Piccadilly flat after their relationship ended in 2000, he was entitled to give her notice to quit The Gables."
is this true Glory. if so why?
"Miss Clibbery said yesterday that she was receiving medical treatment and would not be able to leave at the end of August. She had a leg amputated less than than two months ago after complications caused by high blood pressure."
so sorry about that. what a nightmare!
"Her short but troubling performance as a witness has inevitably put a question mark over the whole of her evidence," he said.
you have stayed relatively calm here. it is a great pity you could not control you emotions in court
i do not think you have been arrogant and we are generally symapthetic to your plight.
i was married twice but decided never again 20 yrs ago. like Ivan i make it clear exclusivity is not an option and i am not as generous as Ivan during a relationship and none cohabit with me.
however i do commit to longtime g/f's to support them for the rest of their lives no matter what their sins. my g/f of 8.5 yrs will soon leave to marry in the us. still she will have substantial income for life.
again best of luck. :)

'No one is the boss of me, only God is the boss of me!' (Nearly a direct quote from my nephew when he was five and I wanted him to brush his teeth.) It is you who are not being clear. You have an opinion and you have only to ask a direct question and I will give you a direct answer. As for Ivan not being here to defend himself, he could if he chose to. By the way, Ivan finally admitted in this latest case that I dumped him. As for being bored with me, you will have to ask him.

Ivan was entitled to ask me to leave the Gables in April of 2001 because of the verdict of Judge Krikler in the Family Court Case that we had not lived together in the Piccadilly Flat as man and wife and so I was not entitled to ask for 6 months possession of the flat I had lived in and shared with him for 15 years. It was to say the least, not a fair hearing. I may not have won, even if it was. My lawyer, Raymond Tooth of Sears Tooth was negligent I am told, in bringing the case the way he did. Under English law at the time there was no protection for partners who were not legally married. Why go to the Family Court as he did...The law has moved on since 2001 and we have grounds to appeal.
Regarding not being able to control my emotions in Court. He was attacking my mother! I was still very ill and on strong pain killers when the latest case began on the 12th of July. I had contracted a hospital bug and nearly died. I still have to take pain killers and may have to for some time yet. I am taking as few as possible but they do not help me articulate or speak normally, especially under extreme pressure when it meant so much, I barely was able to speak on the day because of Ivan Allan's 'tactics', one of which was to fly his close friend Mike Ryan QC over to sit behind me in the Court. This was very difficult for me because he knew Ivan beat me up and raped me in 1994. He arrived at the Piccadilly flat moments afterwards. He asked me what was wrong and when I tried to tell him, he said: "Ivan would never hit a woman." My cheek was bleeding from where Ivan had punched me in the face. I said: "What happened then Mike?"
With what was going on in the background of the hearing it was impossible not to be angry and that didn't help but I was only asked four questions before Ivan jumped up and grabbed his QC's gown and told him to shut me up. I had mentioned the name 'Sport' which the Judge did not understand but Ivan did. Ivan had applied to remove quite a chunk of my witness statement just before the hearing began and succeeded on the grounds that some of what I said might embarrass him in a Public Court. It was highly relevant and without that information the entire case did not make sense and I could not defend myself or my mother. I also did not know what I could say or couldn't. I did not want to end up in prison for contempt of Court and leave my mother vulnerable to attack by Ivan Allan. I seldom sleep for fear he will send agents to break into the house. We have a body guard but he is only one man.
Ivan said when I left him that I did not know what he was capable of. Well if I didn't I do now. We will appeal if he does not settle and before three Judges in England we have a chance to win but the four years of unrelenting stress has destroyed my health and my mother's. What he has done can never be undone and his attacks in the press, paying two PR Consultancies have caused terrible damage to my reputation, as well as his. Ivan is out to destroy me but he is destroying himself in the process. I do not understand what is driving him to do this to us all. It will end badly if he does not come to his senses and sort it out like a man!
He has lied and he needs to pay off the costs his ridiculous behaviour has run up, admit he lied and apologise and we will be quits. Otherwise I do what I have to.
On a lighter note, I have been given a National Health leg, (thick ankle but serves the purpose) and I am learning to walk again. I was able to take a few steps yesterday without holding on.;)
fuck i got a terrible headache trying to read that --PARAS -- Glory --- always remember -- PARAS RULE!! HOBBES
WELL MR. HOBBES I Hope that is clearer?
AND another thing! If Ivan had said exclusivity was out of the question, I would have told him exactly where to go! Ivan is not generous except as a means to an end. He takes all he gives back anyway. He is a thief, pure and simple; a conman and a 'turd' who doesn't even rate being called a shit!:p I was convinced from a very early age, that it would take quite a man to beat no man, as the saying goes. I am utterly heartbroken that Ivan turned out to be what he is, almost more for him than for me. I catch myself trying to defend him, even now. I feel bereaved and I don't know how to recover in any way, but I am determined to do so.
Please show your ex-girlfriend what you have written as it would be very interesting to hear her comment?

The Battler has some connextion to Ivan. He has at least been in listening distance to him talking on the telephone. I hated the way Ivan behaved towards Roddy, (who I never met) and his Cousin John O'Hara, who I did. They both looked up to Ivan but he was neither loyal or a good role model. Anything they became he bears some responsibility for.
quote unnecessary ?? hobbes.
All of it would be unnecessary but for Ivan's behaviour and the circumstance of my being trapped in a wheelchair as this precise moment in history. This space has been a kind of life line to my sanity.

Go on, make my day if you dare play dirty
By Deborah Smith, Science Editor
August 28, 2004
Dirty Harry was right. Revenge really is so satisfying it can make your day, a new brain scanning study has revealed.
To unravel the complex emotion of schadenfreude, Swiss researchers monitored men dishing out punishment to strangers who had betrayed their trust in a game involving real money. They found that getting revenge activated a brain region related to enjoyment.
In the test, one man would give a stranger a sum of money which was then quadrupled. The recipient could reciprocate and hand half of it back to the first man. If he was untrustworthy and kept it all, the first man could punish him by reducing his payout. Most of the players chose to penalise the selfish men even if it meant they had to give up some of their own money.
Dominique de Quervain, of the University of Zurich, said his team's research helped explain why humans had evolved a level of co-operation unmatched in the animal world.
"Our findings support the hypothesis that people derive satisfaction from punishing norm violations," he wrote in the journal Science.
The study is part of a new brain imaging technique aimed at understanding social behaviour and moral emotions.

And all I asked for was 6 months in the London flat a we had shared for 15 years. The Court did not have to chase me far regarding the costs, which were applied unusually at 100% in a so called 'secret' Court where Ivan's witnesses, including Mike Dillon of Ladbrokes and Mike Ryan QC testified believing they would not have to stand by what they swore in that Court in the Public domain. Now wasn't that silly? Ivan has never paid a penny of the costs in the cases he has lost to me and my mother. So what else is new? Ivan continues to claim in the press he paid me £300,000.00 for sex since we met over a period of 15 years. In Court he produced a LIST OF PAYMENTS MADE BY IVAN ALLAN TO GLORY CLIBBERY AND MARGUERITE CLIBBERY. On it are three cheques with the Recipient listed as Glory Clibbery that total £3100.00, I repeat. three thousand one hundred pounds. We were renting a flat in Mayfair at the time over a six month period that we also furnished. He paid half of the expenses although in the telephone bills alone he spent an enormous amount of money. The rest of the list shows cheques to my mother, several of which she did not recieve. Any cheque that went through her accounts is listed on her bank statements. His total adds up to £140,778.00 The Judge in this case, (an elderly South African gentleman), did not normally sit in the High Court, he was a circuit judge, but commented that the case had been 'pointed' at him. He retired immediately after the case, smiling.
Ivan claimed also that he had given me cash that amounted to the about the same as the cheques. He said that this money was entirely for my use in the Family Court, but in the Gables case was paid for the maintenance of the property. and that all the money spent on the property was his...We have bills going over many years for utilities, council tax and telephone that he claims to have paid but did not. My mother can produce £95,000.00 plus in receipts. She can also show that more than this amount was borrowed by Ivan from her and spent on himself and his friends and family and that he was 'laundering' cash through Mum's account, that he was buying presents for his close male friends, using her credit. Answerphone telephone tapes prove he was borrowing cash sums from her and asking her to pay tipsters various amounts. His voice is also heard to leave a message to me complaining he can't get a hold of me. He says: "....I'm having a LOVE AFFAIR with the answering machine." Now, Ivan's whole case has hinged on ours, (to be polite), being 'a business only relationship'. He could have said 'I'm having an affair with the answering machine.' Anyone who denys a relationship in this way in Canada would be tarred and feathered but perhaps in the Far East this is laudable/macho?
Who was responsible for giving Ivan his new job at the Hong Kong Jockey Club? In the English Racing Post on Wednesday August 25th 2004 Ivan has told Tattersals that he will not be attending their bloodstock sales until they apoligise to him for objecting that he did not pay for a horse he bought with them in August 2001. My then Solicitor Raymond Tooth was an early bidder on the horse. Ivan was supposed to be in London picking up his suitcase of clothing I had packed for him, by Court order. He claimed I did not let his agent in to collect it. The agent did collect the suitcase from the Porter. The order actually required Ivan to pick it up. He however was busy buying a horse or running it up for someone. At any rate, I hope Tattersals is deafening in their silence!
Apparently Ivan is in Kentucky with one of his bosses from the Hong Kong Jockey club. My guess is Winfred if anyone knows?
The Suffolk Sheriff refused to evict us as there is a hearing set for an oral appeal on the 20th of October, 2004. So Ivan's 'gangster' lawyer has lined up a Sheriff from Bedfordshire. I don't know quite what has gone on or why, as this Befordshire guy was contacted by the 'gangster' on the Monday after the hearing ended. I gathered from my conversation with the Sheriff of Ipswith, who has durisdiction to evict us, he was only contacted fairly recentlly. When I asked when he said a couple of weeks ago.
I phoned my lawyer to tell him and he said Ipswich must have meant until after the hearing as he is the Queen's representative for Suffolk to evict people by Court order. We cheered up briefly as at least by the 20th of October I could be walking. Then in the evening this Befordshire guy showed up to try and get in to "have a chat". The chap who looks after watching out for my Mum and the house, politely saw him off the property. The Bedfordshire Bailiff told him he was under considerable pressure to evict us immediately, but would go about it in the proper manner.
Bedfordshire was back today, again providing a polite dialogue about his ability to evict us and again asked to be let in for a chat, and then for my permission to walk around the building, telling me he knew we had a big garden. He asked me if I understood that he was only doing his job, and wanted to help us to prepare to leave, and gave me his office number and his home number. I told him he would not be invited in and he did not have our permission to come onto the property.
Tonight someone rang the bell but we did not go to the door and the chap next door arrived shortly afterwards and checked the grounds, but did not see who it was.
The Befordshire guy says he will evict us. I told him I would not hurt him or anyone else but I would not co-operate in any way as he did not have durisdiction and we did not have a fair hearing and that Ivan does not have title and the only person who could sell the house legally may not know exactly what is going on because she does not know the Panamanian company she is president of does not hold title. Ivan is never going to let her in on the true position and will cheat her as he always said he would.
A newspaper telephoned to ask what is happening and I told them to call this guy and find out. The Befordshire guy sounded a touch harrassed when he phoned and told me a reporter had e-mailed him the article Ivan paid to have placed in the Sunday, Telegraph 'FAIRWELL MY CONCUBINE.(SHUT THE DOOR ON YOUR WAY OUT). I wonder what an Englishman from Bedfordshire would make of a man who would pay someone to print that kind of stuff.
Well it remains to be seen but he knows we will not open the door and that as he put it, he will have to make a mess of it to gain entry. I asked him if he had been instructed to evict us on September 5th as every year Ivan does something terroristic on my birthday. He said he never evicts people on a Sunday. Cheers!

Ivan to be awarded special lifetime achievement award by HKJC after R5 today.......
Here I sit in my office cave, (playing some violins) and found your wee message to cheer me up.
I am contemplating dire measures. I don't know what else I can do. Ivan is in Kentucky from reports from our friends just back, likely with Winifred I suppose.
There is a big investigation of racing corruption being handled by the London police, who told me they would interview Ivan regarding the domestic violence, but didn't, because off the record they said that even if I were a 17 year old virgin, in England if the perpetrator has a media PR called Max Clifford and powerful lawyers, the CPS would not prosecute...to which I replied that I did not want him prosecuted, just my complaint kept on record and him interviewed, as I had escaped with my life, and functions at that point intact. I told them that I believed Ivan needed psyciatric help, not prison and at his age, maybe he soon would stop having the urge to do what he does, but if he didn't, that I believed he could kill someone. I was worried about his threat to start travelling with the little girl, Kim Cheng alone, although he is no relation to her and lied in the Court he had adopted her. When Ivan saw a T.V, clip of Woody Allan and his 'adopted' daughter, Ivan said that he thought of it first.
The police asked me if there was any 'same fact' evidence and I gave them what I knew, including a story he told me about a 'nurse' that he said was 'too friendly' like me and that there are evil men in the world who take advantage and would kill women like me. He claimed this 'nurse' was one of only 7 women who had survived an attack by "The Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliff'. I told the police I had never believed this story because all the victims were attacked in the North of England as far as I remember. I gave the police the names of the women I knew had been in his life, the women he called 3 and a half 'mistresses' in Court. I could not name the 'nurse' as Ivan hadn't. It was pretty shocking to be told by police that Dr. UHI 'Patti' Bandara was listed by police as a reported surviving victim of the Yorkshire Ripper. What are the odds?
The police also asked if there were anything illegal going on and I said that they would have to investigate and I would co-operate with any investigation. They did not take up my offer. Now for some reason the London police are involved in this high profile, widely reported investigation into corruption in horse racing. I am amazed the police have not contacted me. As Ivan knows, I can prove his involvement and by association to events, his friends.
If Ivan does not call off his dogs currently threatening my mother and start negotiating with her a settlement of what he owes and her costs for this phoney legal attack, I will give myself a birthday present and call police personally tomorrow. If as he has done in Hong Kong, become a secret police informer here as I think has happened, I will take my evidence to the top of the 'food chain'.
Ivan gets a kick out of destroying people in this way. Even people he doesn't have anything reasonable against. He likes the power of doing it. While I have no desire to involve the many friends he has things on, I am 'between a Rock and a hard place'. The information and documents are held currently by my lawyer. I have just left a message for him to give them to police by 4:00pm Monday. If anyone out there could pass this information on to Ivan I would appreciate giving him a last chance to save a lot of other people grief.
Ivan is probably at the Hyatt, if he hasn't gone to New York for a few days. Mike Shannon may be in direct contact and it is in his best interests if Ivan wakes up in time to stop this. Say hi from me and please help. Jacinto Vasquez might also have a direct contact or Hi Petter. Please pass this message on if you can. Thanks again for the Birthday Greetings so near the end of my life. God Bless, Glory

Is the bookmaker Richard Lim the chap that owned Lido Place in Spore? I think I know who your family is. I understand what you are saying. Like his Singapore secretaries Tina and Shirley, I often ran around doing Ivan's 'gopher' work as he contemptuously called it in Court, helping him earn what you say. What effort did Ivan put in to accomodate anyone? Sometimes I and all the other 'gophers' took it upon themselves to remind him of birthdays and so on and to do what he could not be bothered to do, if the truth were known. As for attacking Ivan, this is a pretty safe way to do so for him. You might say that it is an 'in house' platform. I need help for my mother's sake. Ivan has murdered me. I have no future and a huge gap in my past. He is dead to me. I don't hate him because he is mentally ill and can't help himself but I am very depressed about what he has been able to do to me and mine through connections corrupting lower hearings in the English legal system. No one in this country realised that there was no protection in law for partners until he tried and failed to gagg me. Even after I won I told my lawyers to make an agreement with him, not to reveal what he said most worried him, except in Court or regarding something illegal that the police questioned me about. What has he repaid my silence for? He knows how much I loved him. I am still grieving because I was so wrong to support his life. In 1991/92 I ran around London buying text books for someone who called Ivan 'uncle'. If you are who I think you are, we met very briefly at your parent's home in 1989?
Happy birthday and best wishes from Harry :p :p :p

Grand Hyatt or Hyatt Kowloon side? We nearly always stayed in the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong side, near the Chatter Garden. I loved a hotel on Kowloon side, I think in my muddled state was called 'The Regent' but Ivan didn't want to stay there. Once when Lester was there and the odd time at other Hotels Hong Kong side but nearly always at the Mandarin Oriental. I love Hong Kong. One of my movies in the '70's was filmed there and those were the days. It was so much fun filming in that city. We were filming near the floating restaurants and a platform like boat went by with four Chinese guys styled as the Beatles, singing "She loves you, ya, ya, ya", in Cantonese! It was hilarious. I digress. Yep, he always tried to get me to memorize those rules and "When I say jump, you say, How high?

Hi Glory, Happy birthday!
Not sure if you have read the Monty Roberts book " The man who listens to horses" but he describes a similar situation where a man helped Monty set up a ranch, buying top grade horses etc and then after a while proceeded to tear everything apart ( even threatening to shoot the horses).
I just looked the relevant chapter in the book and it is called the sandcastle syndrome.
The chapter starts off..." In 1964 when I was 31 years old I encountered a man who would change our lives forever. He would take my family and me to the heights of success...and then bring us way lower than we'de ever have imagined possible".
Monty goes into a partnership with this man who confides in him about his problems and asks if he will visit his shrink so he can learn what he is dealing with and understand it.
"Then he ( the psychiatrist) said a curious thing. He described Mr Harcourts condition as "sandcastle syndrome." He went on " a child takes great pleasure in building a magnificent sandcastle right at the waters edge. But that child then reaches even greater heights of excitement when the tide comes in....and destroys it."
"Standing on the terrace later that same evening, I looked down on the barns and other facilities carefully positioned on a broad stretch of flat land in the valley, caught now in the last rays from the sun lowering over the mountains beyond, and I remembered Mr Harcourts wild enthusiasm and his total dedication and absorbtion in the project as we'd planned and built every part of it-and then I knew that we had built a sandcastle for Mr Harcourt."
Monty goes on later " He looked at me...and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck. It was a piercing cold and ominous look which chilled me to the bone. I realised that what we had been dreading was about to happen.
"He paused but I made no response and he continued, " I must sell the farm and all the horses as soon as possible. It is devestating to me but it must be done. I am saddenned to give up my farm and my horses, but partucularly it is painful to give up my relationship with you, Pat and your family. You have been an important part of my life for almost 6 years now...but where my health is concerned I can let no one get in the way".
Later on he is dealing with Mr Harcourts lawyers who were attempting to disolve the partnership and sell off all the assets.
" This had turned into the firestorm, the melt-down Id been waiting for. I no longer felt amazement or sorrow, or incomprehension. I felt anger and determination. I wouldnt let this happen. I'd save these horses from being slaughtered by this trouble man and his hired gun lawyers, somehow. No horse that I looked after was going to be sacrificed on the whim of an unstable man and his capacity to buy the power of legal process"
Maybe Ivan is knocking down his sandcastles. Does sound uncannily familiar.
Happy Birthday & all the best - JB JB are my brother's initialls, by coincidence. I will have to call him now and remind him to 'wish me' or he will be upset he forgot. Men! Thanks again.
:)
I haven't read it although it is among Ivan's books, so I will. Ivan has two completely seperate personalities. The mental problems are extremely odd. This is certainly one of them as I could tell you of so many similar things he did. There are many people in racing who could verify this 'sandcastle' business, including Henry Cecil, although he doesn't know the half of it. Patrick Biancone is another and many, lesser lights including this close mate of his called Terry Fargo. Why he wanted to destroy Terry seemed completely without reason. Mick Kinane nearly got in Ivan's sights at one point and I wouldn't put it past Ivan to sort him out eventually and again, why...Maybe Mick rode for him and didn't follow his jockey instructions. Another was this guy in France, a breeder we saw at the sales everywhere who worked for the French Breeders Assosiation.
Ivan sent me copies of this column he ghost wrote called SILKS AND SINNERS so I could note the progress of his various agendas. I thought Ivan was quite manic sometimes, high as if he were drunk and talking very fast and bringing home boxes of crystal stuff in different patterns feverishly. He'd go like that for a few days and then was like a zombie with depression so bad he couldn't speak at all. Mental illness is a desperate thing. He played off it too. Sometimes I thought he was pretending to be crazy. I asked his mother why he did stuff and she said he was sometimes mentally ill and his first cousin said that there is a chemical imbalance that everyone in one side of his family has to a greater or lesser degree. I don't know. It's quite a good excuse to plead insanity. He advised Lester to plead diminished responsibility to avoid prison in the Tax evasion case in 1987 on the grounds he starved to meet the weights and it gave him 'hoarding' instincts like anorexics get and that he wasn't hiding money from the tax man, just 'hoarding'. Ivan has taken a psycology course. Some of what I saw, he couldn't fake. He is ill.
I saw something about 'the horse whisperer' on television years ago about him and Ivan was very interested in him from that. Ivan doesn't read much other than the racing papers. He used to get me to read books for him and edit them so I put coloured lines under the parts I thought he would be interested in...He would then get angry if I underlined something he didn't think I should have. The edited books would be kept in the various bathrooms here and in the Piccadilly Flat
:('There's naught so strange as folk'

I am hoping my computer chap gets my web-site page up soon, as I may need to have a 'yard sale' if we do not win the appeal. As things stand, we will be lucky to get an appeal in the High Court as my lawyers seem pretty helpless against his 'cheaters' I will not cheat and so in this world, I may not win? In which case if we survive them breaking down the doors and throwing us out on the pebbled drive I hope to have made a few bob selling off the memorabilia. Some of it could appreciate in value. A few legal beagles in England may be interested in some of the legal papers and lots of nik naks have to go to the highest bidder.

I am a personal friend of Ivans, the man you are verbally attacking and
abusing on this web site.
I and many others have always found him to be an honourable and straight person. You have obviously written these things through bitterness and are trying to blacken his name and character with your lies.
What else could be expected from a washed up, one legged porn actress who has passed her sell by date and is only interested in one thing, and that is to get as much money as she can out of her association with a very rich man?
Ivan missed a golden opportunity when he discovered you were using the Gables as a B & B with you as the breakfast.
My advice to you is that you should see a plastic surgeon as soon as possible as clearly your mouth is situated so close to your arse that every time you speak, diarrhoea seeps from it.
Your actions have cost you the friendship of the best man you ever knew, someone who looked after not only you but your mother as well.

Ooer Missus, Glory I think you may have upset someone's boyfriend!
The evicted mistress of racing tycoon Ivan Allan has portrayed herself as a victim of his ruthlessness. In an exclusive interview, the successful trainer has the last word, telling Neil Mackwood and Andrew Alderson that she knew he kept her for sex, not love
It was F. Scott Fitzgerald who wrote: "Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me." The American novelist believed that immense wealth allowed those possessing it to live by different rules from the rest of society.
Ivan Allan is living proof that Scott Fitzgerald's words are as true today as when they were written nearly 80 years ago. After making his millions by being the most successful racehorse trainer in Singapore and Hong Kong, Mr Allan has felt entitled to treat the women in his life as if they were thoroughbreds.
He has stabled a handful of his lovers in lavish houses around the world and visited them in turn, for days or weeks at a time, in the same way that a champion stallion is taken to cover beautifully bred mares.
Mr Allan's somewhat unconventional approach to relationships with the opposite sex would have remained unpublicised were it not for the fact that one of his mistresses challenged his right to eject her from his two British homes after the relationship ended.
Last week Mr Allan, who is more used to making headlines because of the successes of his four-legged fillies, found himself in the newspapers because of the court-room exploits of one of his two-legged ones. A judge sitting at the High Court in London ruled in Mr Allan's favour by allowing him to evict Glory Anne Clibbery, 51, a one-time soft-porn actress and his mistress of 14 years, from his seven-bedroom mansion in Newmarket, Suffolk. Her mother, Peggy, 78, who had moved in with her daughter, must also leave The Gables.
So last week, after Miss Clibbery had told her side of the story both in court and in the tabloid newspapers, Mr Allan decided to give a rare interview to try to explain his attitude towards women. He told The Sunday Telegraph that he never sought to mislead Miss Clibbery - or any of his other mistresses - about her role in his life.
"In the 14 years of our association, I never used a word or words of endearment verbally or in writing," he said. "No woman could be fool enough to believe there was love. It was sex and friendship and financial assistance and nothing more. In Asian terms, Glory was precisely a concubine."
He is a man who, both on and off the racetrack, likes to win and enjoys sealing shrewd business deals. He has combined racehorse training with successful ownership: Commanche Run, a horse he bought for 9,000 guineas and sold for £4 million, won the St Leger, one of Britain's most prestigious races, with Lester Piggott in the saddle.
He does not smoke or drink, but takes pleasure from his mistresses. "Yes, my outlook on sex, love and marriage is not in keeping with society's values. I am pragmatic about my limitations. I can be faithful to a woman from the heart but not from below the belt."
As a multi-millionaire bachelor, Mr Allan might be regarded by some as quite a catch. As well as his Newmarket property, he owns a flat in Mayfair, central London, and apartments in Singapore and Hong Kong. He is intelligent - he qualified as a lawyer - and can be charming and generous.
In age and looks, however, he is no matinee idol: he is 63, of medium height, with a shuffling walk. Mr Allan has the appearance of a Caucasian, but is more Asiatic in his thinking: he is the son of a Eurasian jockey turned trainer of Irish descent and his values stem from the East, where he was brought up.
Most women would find his bank balance more immediately attractive than his physical attributes. Miss Clibbery was one of them: she met Mr Allan at a party in London in 1986, when she was 33, attractive and glamorous. That night he offered her a lift home in his chauffeur-driven Mercedes and discovered that she was sleeping on a friend's floor in Kensington, was unable to find work and was broke.
Mr Allan said he slipped the contents of his wallet into her handbag without counting, and later realised that he had given her approximately £2,400. They met the next day, went to the cinema and took a walk in Green Park, where the trainer said he made her a business proposal. His proposition was that Miss Clibbery should embark on "a friendship laced with sex". This, said Mr Allan, involved a deal whereby he would pay her about £1,000 a month throughout the year for her "companionship" for five or six weeks a year, especially when he visited Britain.
According to Mr Allan, Miss Clibbery immediately accepted the arrangement, with the knowledge that he then had "three and a half" other women in his life. "The half was because I was working on another girl at the time and I was half-way there," he explained in a telephone interview from Singapore. Miss Clibbery, however, insists that they did not sleep together for a year.
While some people may question Mr Allan's morality, few can doubt the honesty of his views. "Most men have the same problem [wanting more than one lover], but do not face up to the truth, and hence broken marriages and divorce are on the rise. I believe that sex is an appetite motivated by hormones and some men are more motivated than others," he said.
He insisted that he does not commit adultery with married women and always warns his intended girlfriends or mistresses of his outlook on sex and love. He says that - with the exception of one girl, many years ago - he has never promised commitment or love. He is determinedly single and is convinced that he will never marry. "I am very close to the women in my life. I believe in bonds of friendship and not bonds of law," he said.
Today, however, there is little friendship left for his former lover. Indeed, he speaks of Miss Clibbery's medical problems - her diabetes has led to the amputation of her left leg below the knee - with the amount of sympathy that Nicholas van Hoogstraten, the businessman described as "Britain's nastiest landlord", might have for a tenant he evicted for not paying the rent.
Mr Allan recalled that on one of their earlier dates he took Miss Clibbery to a friend's dinner party prepared by a cordon bleu chef and she polished off five rich desserts in one sitting. "I told her that she should not over-indulge herself as she was a diabetic. Glory's response was that she would just take more insulin to remedy it," he said. "Such overindulgences were very regular throughout our 14-year association, but I could not stop her. Her willpower to abstain from sugar was weak."
The latest court case is not the first legal dispute between Mr Allan and Miss Clibbery. After they broke up four years ago, he won a court order barring her from his London home, but she later went to court to lift a "gagging order" against her. She took advantage of the ruling by telling her story to a tabloid newspaper, in which she claimed that Mr Allan had treated her as "little more than a prostitute".
Mr Allan said that he had decided to give an interview to expose what he sees as the dark side of Miss Clibbery. Why, he asks, did she contend that she had annual earning power of £200,000, yet she was represented by legal aid?
He considers he was fair and generous towards his mistress. "I frequently advised her to look for a husband among her contacts in showbusiness or even return to Canada to settle down. But this always ended up in quarrels. She claimed she was happy with her life as it was, fully acknowledging the other women in my life and that our association had no depth," said Mr Allan.
The couple's relationship broke down in 2000, when Mr Allan says he refused to buy a houseboat for Miss Clibbery. She threw a tantrum and walked out with what he insists was a long-term plot to grab his £1.3 million country house and £700,000 London flat.
"She left me, I did not ditch her. It was her choice," he said. Upon his return to the Far East, he says Miss Clibbery "illegally grabbed possession of my Mayfair apartment and three weeks later I returned to London and was unable to gain access because it was locked from the inside. I was furious."
In court three years ago, Miss Clibbery claimed that she cohabited with Mr Allan, but the judge did not accept the argument and she was forced to vacate the flat and pay costs of £140,000. Now, after the most recent action, she faces further costs estimated at £100,000.
Mr Allan says that in the sporadic days he spent with his companion she lived in five-star comfort visiting locations such as Deauville, Cannes, Paris and Hong Kong. He bought her jewellery and expensive clothes and in 1999 he advanced her £30,000 to clear the mortgage on her flat in Battersea, south London. In court, evidence was presented showing that he had parted with more than £300,000 to the Clibberys.
"It was so unnecessary to end our 14-year association in such a distasteful manner," he said. "Her vicious plots have failed. She could have walked away with a mortgage-free apartment in Battersea and had some cash in the bank, but her arrogance and greed took control of her. I should have known better that, having been a soft-porn actress, she would be shameless in her determination to try to win."
Miss Clibbery has accused Mr Allan of six "criminal attacks" of violence on her. In 2001, she reported him to Scotland Yard for assault but, unknown to her, Mr Allan had gone to the apartment accompanied by a female private detective, who had secretly filmed the whole episode using a camera concealed in her bag. After he presented the footage to the police, they took no further action. He denies being violent towards her, although he concedes she consensually participated in rough sex and allowed him to "spank" her.
"The Clibberys abused their free residence at my Newmarket property and it was proved in the Chancery Court that they had rented out the bedrooms to tenants at £600 per person per month and even established a bed and breakfast business there without my permission or knowledge. They kept the income for themselves, while I paid for the gas, electricity bills and council taxes," said Mr Allan.
Even now, he is prepared to make a final peace offering. If they retract their various "unfounded" allegations and apologise in a sworn and signed statement - and promise never to repeat the claims again - he will not pursue the legal costs against them. The Clibberys, however, insist they will appeal against the judge's ruling, and the dispute could run and run over many more furlongs.
Mr Allan's bitter experiences with Miss Clibbery have not altered his approach to women. He currently has two mistresses, one in America and one in Hong Kong. He says he has a "vacancy" in Britain: one that he hopes - and expects - will not take long to fill.
Is it not true that the only thing stopping most men from living in a similar manner is one thing - $$$$$ ?
Is the bookmaker Richard Lim the chap that owned Lido Place in Spore?
yes --- had totally forgotten i went there once in 94, got horribly bored and may have even fallen asleep. chinese nightclubs or karoake were never my style.

Fellicity (1979)
Glory Annen - Felicity Robinson
Directed by John Lammond
Felicity Robinson is a young woman in search of her erotic dreams, much in the tradition of "Emmanuelle". At the end of her final year at Willow's End, an exclusive girl's finishing school in Melbourne, Australia, Felicity's parents send her on a surprise trip to Hong Kong. There she comes in contact with an exotic and exciting world of ancient rituals and mysterious people. Her innate curiosity leads her to many different amorous experiences: She teams up with Me-Ling, a beautiful Eurasian woman, who takes her to see the other side of Hong Kong: the boat people, the market places, but most of all the strange sexual nether world that is Hong Kong by night.
The film stars Glory Annen, Christopher Milne, Joni Flynn, and Jody Hanson.

Think she has been well and truly paid for her services...300,000 pounds...jewellry ++ is not bad earnings plus the 1000 a week
No, it's not 1000 a week.
This, said Mr Allan, involved a deal whereby he would pay her about £1,000 a month throughout the year for her "companionship" for five or six weeks a year, especially when he visited Britain.
It's difficult for us outsiders to judge who is right and who is wrong, but I do find Allan to be a cheapskate. I don't know how much the rich and famous in Hong Kong pay their concubines, but I am sure it's far more than the equivalent of £1,000 a month. Even a decent secretary gets paid more than that! After being together for so many years, many concubines would get a large flat as remuneration.

Given that they never leave wet teabags lying around, or seek to own houseboats, maybe they deserve higher esteem than Glory.
so Glory mentioned the houseboat part before any reports of Ivan doing same. what were you going to do with the houseboat Glory and why would it turn into such a huge fight ?? what is the price of a "houseboat" ??

With 56 Dead, Ivan Intensifies Off Jamaica
1 hour, 5 minutes ago
By STEVENSON JACOBS, Associated Press Writer
BULL BAY, Jamaica - Hurricane Ivan strengthened to a rare Category 5 storm capable of catastrophic damage, leaving Jamaica and aiming for the Cayman Islands with winds reaching 165 mph, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (news - web sites) said Saturday. Ivan has killed 56 people across the Caribbean so far this week, including 34 in Grenada and 11 in Jamaica.
Millions more people are in its path, with Ivan projected to go between the Cayman Islands, make a direct hit on Cuba and then either move into the Gulf of Mexico or hit South Florida.
"If God doesn't help us, I think this is going to be extremely tragic," said Maria del Carmen Boza, a 65-year-old resident of Cojimar, a seaside community in Cuba once frequented by Ernest Hemingway. "All of Cuba is worried. This looks like it's going to be really dangerous."
Just about sums it up doesnt it?

There was one slightly used teabag in a Chinese sauce dish by the kettle as I'd just made a cup of very light tea for Ivan and was about to use the same bag to make mine and Ivan suddenly went mad about my using a tea bag twice. The asking price for the houseboat in question was only £20,000.00 and located at Chelsea Docks and if sound would have been an amazing investment. I never asked Ivan to buy it for me as he has claimed and I did not leave him because of the argument as he has claimed.

The strange thing about all this - is that I presume Ivan Allan is shrewd with his money. If he is has it not occured to him yet that in all this time he and glory have been slowly leeched by the lawyers, after 4 odd years of legal battle, both of them are down on the deal and the lawyers are still creaming and what so far is the result? Sweet FA!! However, more money is going into the lawyers coffers Ivan is slagging off Glory - Glory is giving him welly (rightly or wrongly) Ivan gets the house back - glory gets the house back again- and all the time neither lawyer has done a sodding thing to get it sorted out to both parties interests.
SUGGESTION:
IVAN _ grow up and get real
Glory- Shut up and get your health back
Only you two know what you really thought you meant to each other.
Ivan - dont try and kid yourself that she meant nothing to you thats just bollocks
Sit down the pair of you sort out some deal whereby both of you can get on with your lives, tell both lawyers to go screw for the fees they have not earned - Ivan you give glory some money to get herself straight (which would otherwise go to the parasites) and at least give both your parents some bloody dignity in the autumn of their lives.

'any woman who thinks she has an exclusive relationship with a male living in Asia, and who she only sees a few weeks of the year, has to be seriously delusional'.
Sorry to dissapoint you bud - but monogomus relationships are not exclusive to non asian countries- and please don't think me rude but what appears to go on in asia may well be acceptable in asia but that dont make it the international code by which all the women of the world have to accept. The next step along that path is that anything goes - well it does not! it also is not accetable to try to influence a British Court that the degenerate morals of certain asian gentlemen are quite laudible!
Glory - just because people are sympathetic to you on this site does not mean you have to justify everything you say or do!
" but monogomus relationships are not exclusive to non asian countries".
wow that double negative makes it a bit hard to get a grip on.
on the site asiaxpat the owner once suggested no western married male was ever totally fatihful and challenged all to find him one faithful husband.
actually i had come up with a variation of this more than 10 years prior when i suggested to all willing to listen that marriage vows should NOT apply outside the country of origin.

It was so unnecessary to end our 14-year association in such a distasteful manner," he said.
Think she has been well and truly paid for her services...300,000 pounds...jewellry ++ is not bad earnings plus the 1000 a week If you are a friend of Ivan's you repeat his lies at his peril because the truth will out and that could very well mean a prison sentence for him and his 'mates' at the end of the day. The woman he brought to the flat had a large video camera in her hand. As Ivan knows we took several photographs of her and him. On the 5th April 2001 they were scuttling around like rats at the back of the flat and I have a photo of them running away up the back stairs and on the 6th of April in the flat. Ivan brought her to the Piccadilly flat in comtempt of an undertaking to the Court. She and his legal representatives lied to the police about the tape. Ivan cannot show the video to anyone because all it shows is him being abusive, both to me and my mother. Make no mistake, the police are no fools. These days in England, most have University degrees and small time con artists like Ivan all get taken down sooner or later.

You would understand if you were hopping in my shoe the immense relief at finding any kind of sounding board in this utterly ridiculous situation, short of suing Ivan and everyone he has dragged into this mess, which seems now the only partial remedy.

I think that you would be hard pressed to find any 9 to 5 suburban types over there...thank heavens. :p Mr Imaufo! Men who behave badly, end up alone and if they can afford it and can be bothered, 'stalk' their ex-partner's with litigation to 'punish' them for leaving their sorry ass! Get real.
The chap who wrote this fiction without giving me a write of reply is called NEIL MACKWOOD OF WRIGGLESWORTH PR CONSULTANCY. He was also behind two or three recent articles placed in the DAILY EXPRESS. Hobbes sounds like a journalist? Maybe he would be able to get to the bottom of this? I dealt with Max Clifford and had a very rare full retraction given and printed regarding a story that was repeated in several tabloids concerning a mate of Ivan's called Campbell Simpson. I still believe the system can and will deal with those that lie, cheat, steal, attack elderly women in their homes and women largely innocent of their charges in the press and will provide some kind of remedy. Nobody is perfect. I knew Ivan was a terrible mistake just months into our sexual relationship but I loved him and that was my undoing. Until he ordered two men 6'7" tall to batter my mother in front of his Solicitor Steven Beverley who held a mobile telephone so Ivan could listen to our screams I would have accepted Mum settling with him as she wanted to do. Now he will be brought to justice and that process is unstopably in motion.

At one point I mistook 'Rasputin' for a Super Hero and he remains his own Acheles heel. If someone doesn't put him down, he will do it himself. It was female arrogance to believe I was the only person who could save Ivan from himself during the relationship. I am now so appalled and ashamed I ever counted him as family and exposed my family to this kind of scum. I am now resigned I will have to start attacking him with litigation as he has done to me for four years. I have nothing to lose and everything to gain by exposing him for what he is, a product of his dreadful upbringing, the sum total of his experience.

Millionaire's ex-mistress evicted from £1.7m house
By Alison Purdy
10 September 2004
The former mistress of a millionaire racehorse owner has been evicted by bailiffs from her one-time lover's £1.7m house. Glory Clibbery, 51, was carried down the steps of the nine-bedroom, red-brick mansion in Newmarket, Suffolk, and wheeled off the premises by bailiffs hired by her former partner, Ivan Allan.
Mr Allan, 63, won a High Court order in July to evict Ms Clibbery and her 78-year-old mother, Marguerite, his former housekeeper. Yesterday, Ms Clibbery, who had a 12-year relationship with Mr Allan, wept and hugged her mother on the pavement outside the gates.
She said the bailiffs had forced their way in. "This is the result of there not being any protection in law for partners," she said. "Until this country catches up with a large part of the rest of the world, people like Ivan Allan will be able to do this kind of thing."
Ms Clibbery, a Canadian-born actress, had told the High Court that her mother had lived in the house for 15 years and Mr Allan had promised she could call it home for life. She had gone to live with her after her relationship with Mr Allan ended in 2000.
When bailiffs arrived on Wednesday, they were met with wired gates and locked doors. Ms Clibbery said they told her she could have five days to pack and find somewhere else. "We have been ejected having been told we had five days," she said. Ms Clibbery, who has had a leg amputated because of diabetes and uses a wheelchair, said she locked herself in when the bailiffs arrived.
She said she agreed to come out only when she was told that she could take her belongings. But when they got outside the gates the bailiffs refused to hand them over. She said the belongings included her computer containing documents relating to her High Court battle.
Ms Clibbery said her mother was owed £800,000 by Mr Allan. "I never wanted any money," she said. "All I wanted was for him to pay my mother what she is owed for the upkeep of the house."
Mrs Clibbery said: "Glory cannot believe it has come to this. The sad thing is it's all her young years she has wasted on this man." She said they had nowhere to live and had £350,000 in legal debts. The Clibberys intend to present further evidence at a hearing on 20 October. Mrs Clibbery later said they had been allocated a shared bedroom in a hostel.
Mr Allan's solicitor, Stephen Beverley, said: "This is a sad day for all parties. The Clibberys have been given numerous opportunities to leave in a dignified manner. What's more, they have refused accommodation from the local authority.
"After 12 years of little more than a chequebook relationship, my client's generosity in allowing Mrs Clibbery to stay in the house was repaid by them running a B&B for profit and refusing my client and his visitors access for the past four years."

Hobbes...this sounds like an interesting movie?
Male fantasy rubbish but thanks anyway. It was great fun making the film and I thought it was harmless at the time but this kind of stuff dehumanises women in a misogynist world. Fantacy is personal and better left buried in the little mushy, murky grey cells? If people live out their fantasies it creates an impossible situation for ordinary people, harmful to women in a lot of ways. Look how making this film has enabled Ivan to attack me and yet there would not be investment in this type of film without punters like him buying it for titilation and to me the hypocracy of male name calling and moral double standards is frustrating to say the least. I am beginning to believe women should have nothing to do with men sexually at all and go to sperm banks to procreate!
Was really a bit of a joke on myself Glory.
Could have been written something like this...
Imaufos benefactors send her on a surprise trip to Hong Kong. There she comes in contact with an exotic and exciting world of ancient rituals and mysterious people. Her innate curiosity leads her to many ( well, not too many) different amorous experiences: She teams up with Hobbes and co, who take her to see the other side of Hong Kong: the boat people, the market places, but most of all strawberries & dreams cafe and the strange sexual nether world that is Hong Kong by night.

that sounds a little unlikely and over the top. if you wish to maintain your credibility here i suggest you control your emotions a little more. I don't blame you for thinking it is unbelievable...What kind of men would do that? What kind of man would pay these men to do that to a tiny, frail 78 year old lady? Someone who knew that if he attacked my mother I would die trying to defend her but I didn't see it happen. I was in another room. Mum had to be taken to a Doctor and he made a police report. Photos and video tape were taken of her injuries and she has to go to a hospital for blood tests and an ex-ray to establish if her arm is broken. She is having flash backs of what happened and is still very sore all over from the incident. I pray that Ivan lives to regret everything he has done but particularly that.
I think it is pretty disgraceful that the moderators of this forum continue to allow insults on Glory referring to her operation on her leg. It is most unfortunate incident and as a human being something you would not want to wish on anybody.
I dont know whether or not Allan on Glory is right but I do know that a certain level of decorum should be maintained on this forum and criticism should not have to stoop so low into referring to somebody's misfortune.

He managed to shed a tear after leaving the stage with his silver horse as his pat on the back for "services rendered".
I liked Whyte's comment about Allan's 2 rules:
1. I am the boss
2. If the boss get's it wrong refer to rule #1
Grand Hyatt or Hyatt Kowloon side? Not original of course. Ivan is incapable of original thought and has to rely on 'borrowing' quotes and people editing joke books for him. He writes down jokes and tries to memorise them but often needs a side kick to jump in to correct him or tell him the punch line. Basically mentally, Ivan is a robot. His one ability accomplished without cheating is choosing race horses and in that he is a 'diviner'.
I think that any fanciful thoughts of censorship on this particular forum should be
discarded. :)

JN Only one person calls me 'Gloria'. If you are as you appear to be a 'close' friend of Ivan's, you are three things to qualify: 1. Closet homosexual 2. Brain dead (I was a fierce and loyal friend for 15 years) 3. He has a file on you. The next time you are in the Singapore house, go to Tina's office off the shabby living room and look yourself up in the filing cabinets and then tell me Ivan is honourable. Ivan hates everyone including himself. I don't hate him. At a distance I will feel sorry for him but I have suffered terribly at his hands. I am recovering from an amputation and I blame Ivan entirely for my ill health as the stress caused the high blood pressure that damaged my kidneys and my kidneys calcified my arteries. There is absolutly no point in 'what if's' but can you tell me why Ivan has hired the publicist Max Clifford and Neil Mackwood to lie for him and destroy me in the world press? Why did he hire Clifford Chance and keep ten lawyers busy for a year trying to gag me? What is the only solution for me? Try to use the single brain cell you obviously have to sort that out and trust Ivan to your peril! Out of curiosity, have we met?

Geez....Ivan would be pissed off about being called 'portly' ...
He went on a crash diet a few years ago and lost about 4 stone - looked like he was going to die.
Maybe the JC should hand out pink stockings and hair brushes on Derby day so the punters can throw them at him if he wins the big race - as expected.
Hope he writes his memoirs - and tells all.
--------------------
I'm giving her just another 45 minutes to stop that !!!He didn't go on a diet, he had been adult onset diabetic for years but ignored it and finally he ran completely our of his own bodies insulin from quafing cases of real coke, chocolate bars and icecream five at a time. I had to bring Ivan out of a diabetic coma several times. He had to start taking insulin. He had one of his 'tame' doctors, either Patti Bandara or his mother's gynecologist help him pass his physical to train horses but at that point when he lost all that weight, Ivan was dying and I could not convince him to admit he needed medical help which made me desperately worried.
He 'borrowed' my insulin and began injecting himself when he was about to pass out but eventually he was diagnosed in England and my diabetic team at Guys and St Thomas hospital saw both him and his mother. (When we broke up Ivan threatened our diabetic nurse and kidney specialist not to testify for me that we had visited them and they us at the hospital and the Piccadilly flat as a 'family'. The Nurse Sile Burmiston and the specialist Steve Thomas were told their jobs were in jeapardy, likely by Peter Sonkston who Ivan saw privately and I saw through the National Health. Bizzarely it was Peter Sonkston's wonderful wife, a legendary ward nurse called Sister Judd that helped me through my first few weeks as an insulin dependent diabetic. Ivan's threats to sue the hospital if private medical information was put into Court even though at that point the Family Court was thought to be held in 'secret', was a big blow to my case that they could not testify because of what Ivan was saying. At that point he denied we were ever even boyfriend or girlfriend and that I had never been in the flat for more than the time it took him to summon me and have sex, which he claimed he paid me for. He also claimed at that point that I could know little about his life because it was a 'business only relationship'.
Ivan has had several small strokes. The first in 1996 when we were in Deauville for the horse sales. When you love someone and they seem hell bent on killing themselves it is a savage dillema, especially because I had childhood onset and knew the pain he was having with his muscles deteriorating and diabetic neuropathy. I spent years masaging his body for hours and trying to put healing into him through my fingers to the point of complete exhaustion physically and mentally. He has put me in a position by denying our long relationship of denying me the human right to family during my child bearing years. He has humiliated by hiring cheque book journalists to defame me. He has said I know nothing so I have to show I know everything and obviously would not know what I know, if there was no close relationship. My entire future financially now rests on proving Ivan a liar. When I left him I did ask him for anything but a little more time in our Piccadilly flat to disentangle my life from his.
Does it not occur to those who attack me on this site, odd that someone who claims to be a tycoon has perpetrated this kind of malicious litigation against me and my mother so publically, and spent enormous amounts of money (he probably hasn't paid) on so many powerful legal firms for what end? He told the Judge in the resent hearing that he had no need for the house. I love and need the house desperately as I can get around in a wheelchair in it. I can feel my Grandmother's spirit there. I can recover there, to a certain extent anyway. What Ivan has done is monstrous on every level. He has to face his own eternity and that is enough for me. I wouldn't be him for anything because I am only one person he has hurt. He has no chance of redemtion. He is Catholic and believes what he believes but the Christian faith as given by the Catholic faith has nurtured this monster and many others like him who have not the brain to understand the consequences of their behaviour cannot be forgiven with a few Hail Maries. God and his 'wife' know his black heart and he will feel every bit of pain I and his other 'victims' have felt when he dies. As an Anglican Buddhist I have to hope he has a long life and learns the lessons he has been sent to earth to learn. Why try to destroy someone who nearly died supporting him through so many years and my mother who was kind to him even in Court. Ivan attacked me physically. He destroyed the last vestage of trust I had in him. Until he ordered his hired thugs to beat up my mother on my Grandmother's birthday, the 9th of September 2004 at the Gables, I would have let Ivan settle with my mother for the money he owed her, which was very little compared to the cost of the litigation. Now there is no solution possible. It is war to the last person standing. It is Armagedon!!! Now I am very blue and think I will try to get out and get on a bus with my wheelchair and go to one of London's beautiful parks and feed the ducks. I got Ivan on a bus once. He looked absolutely chuffed with the experience. We had jumped on the bus as it paused and I had hold of his hand and pulled him on. It lent him a different perspective he said. He hadn't been on a bus in years. I love London buses but I don't know if I will be able to get on one. If there is a will...Speak to you guys later and thanks for listening.

It does seem abnormal to try and attack someone because of a disability. It is still something I can't face directly. When they told me I refused to believe them and prayed for my leg for about a week and then I had to face it or die. It is terrible but not as terrible as some have to face. You just have to say that this is what I am left with and go on as best you can. I have met wonderful, courageous and good people who are also going through the loss of a limb and we support each other. Thank you shadey. You are a gent.

In fact if anything these crass statements serve Glory's cause, as the people who write such things are only stressing what a bunch of dumb nuts they are, and you can pretty much discount anything else they have said. Idiots!

Apart from money I suspect that most men wouldnt be up to the challenge of living with more than one woman at a time.....most find it hard enough to remember one birthday or anniversary each year...imagine them remembering 4 or 5???:)
Then there is the small problem of finding the right ladies that are keen on sharing ....probably not so easy?

We are also instructed to inform you that your clients will not be able to have access to the property until the following items are returned to our client, namely:-
1. Two armchairs with matching poufs.
2. A pinewood side table (marble top).
3. A grey steel framed glass top coffee table.
4. A full set of Wedgewood crockery - a St. Ledger prize for Commanche Run.
i only got this far and realised this item was important to ivan else why comment on derivation of the crockery !!!
5. 19th Century painting of a horse and jockey.
6. Personal videos tapes.
All of the above items were in the property when our client was last allowed to have access and what's more, Mrs Clibbery confirmed in the recent Chancery case that the Wedgewood crockery was in situ. If it is not returned, then this matter will be reported to the police.
again mention of the crockery !!
you lose any moral superiority in this case unless you return the 1st 5 items above. if item 6) is "bedroom tapes" then i think you have a right to keep same.
regardless return the crockery to Ivan or you lose any moral support from myself ( and i imagine some others !! )

Thanks To Battler for letting me use his Name to log in, as I have trouble logging in.
Bones is my name for this forum.
I've known Ivan since the 60's so that makes nearly 45 yrs we have been friends. I rode many winners for him and in fact rode his 1st winner, was his fathers stable jockey and when he passed on I took charge of the stable ( while still riding) as Ivan was still going to school, he wanted to leave school and train and I was sacked by Ivan because he wanted to be in charge, that wasnt a problem as when we parted I took the horses to another stable so he started from scratch.
Rode his 1st Champion only to be sacked the week before leaving for the USA after being told all along I was riding him in the USA, but that is racing and Ivan was the boss ( my wifes bone worked wonderfully) and when you worked for Ivan you knew and understood that, Ivan has always been in charge of anything he is involved in otherwise he wont get involved. As a trainer he is the best I've ever ridden for, and backs this up by putting his money on and when he does they win 99% of the time there wouldnt be a jockey in the world who has ridden for him and not admire his ability. A great judge who knows horses and understands racing better than most. Away from business I've always found him to be a genuine friend not only to me but to my family as my family have been to his. Glory you would write a great novel as alot of what you have said seems like fairytale while some I can believe might be true. As for him sending thugs to attack your mother I find impossible to believe, he is no angel never has been but you were with him long enough to know what type of man he is, it seems it didnt bother you while he was paying the bills and your were collecting your wages. You seem a very bitter and desperate person, might have been better to have taken the settlement offer and got on with life.
Cheers Bones

Cheers BonesI know all about you from Ivan. He told me about the advice that you gave him regarding the horses his father was pulling for a big pay day when he died. It is utterly irresponsible of you to say Ivan wins 99% of the time when he gambles. He obviously learned to lie outrageously from you too? You started him on his addiction to gambling and cheating to win! You know he wants the world to believe he is a successful gambler but he is only successful when he cheats to win and that is not someone to admire is it? When he wins without cheating he doesn't get a 'buzz'. That is just plain sick. He told me the day before I left him that he wrote the book on how to cheat at the horseracing game and if he did, you taught him the first few pages. As much as Ivan knows about gambling he wins only 50% of the time, especially when he bets on other people's horses with other people's money. Ivan is not a real horseman in the European sense of the word, but he does have a God given talent for buying bloodstock. You are a horseman and Ivan finds people like you to cover his ass! Danny Shum did your job the last ten years in Hong Kong. Ivan uses good people and I believe you are a good person at heart. Ivan is not. He has no heart. I admire Ivan's ability to pick horses with potential especially yearlings. I saw that for myself in every kind of weather as he judged hundreds of horses in Europe and Kentucky. He never paid my bills or my wages. Both my mother and I had to pay his bills in Europe for 18 years. I am bitter at the moment not because he has hounded me for four years and called me a whore and had his bum boy make false accusations in the tabloid press but because he has paid agents to terrorise my mother and recently to bash her about and now is keeping her possessions from a nearly 80 year old lady. I loved him with all my heart but I have paid my dues to that relationship and I had the best reasons for leaving him! He tried to claim he left me but I proved him a liar, and he has had to admit that much since the recent hearing, the jerk! There was no settlement asked for and no settlement on offer. Check the facts! The freedom of speech case I won allows anyone to see the Family Court case papers. Ivan threatened my life and my family and has come close to bankrupting me with litigation and now I will start suing him. I can't get on with life because he won't let me and if you think your wife's bone did wonders, just wait for the effects of mine! After what he did to my mother he is dead to me. And if you saw the file he has on you and some members of your family you'd punch him on his fat nose! I f you don't believe me, go to Tina's office in the Singapore house and have a mosey! Don't be a chump. Poor Ivan. In Court he said he is his father's son. The truth is Ivan has only ever been a wanna be as a human being. I have a question for you, who was the man who charged Ivan 35% interest to pay his stable wages when he lost many times during this period you describe as 99% wins? The man he called 'Grandfather'?

Oh yes! Please can we??? This is the most fascinating reading!
I wonder though, after final eviction of Glory from the Gables, how she has managed to post here on the forums. She stated that her computer was taken from her and was refused it back. Yet her posts have appeared here since the confiscation/eviction. I can't really see her ambling along to an internet cafe and one would assume that there would be no other computer around, let alone, could she afford another one, by the sounds of it. Any insight to this??
I was also under the impression that Glory was not doing so well in the health department. Due to her lack of posting in the more recent of times, I was a little concerned that maybe she has become seriously ill. I took the liberty of doing some research on the net but can find nothing to suggest same.
Can anyone enlighten us as to what has happened to our Glory???
Hugss to all and thank you for listening to me.
Mary xx
The computer in question was returned to Glory Clibbery after a week or two, this involved a great deal of money being spent on legal fees. The computer itself had been in the hands of a certain lickspittle solicitor named Steven Beverley who had tried to download information from it. This however seems to have failed as on the day of the eviction the telephone lines were cut [NOT LEGAL] when it was connected to the internet, this seems to have locked the drives somehow, I don't know, not being a computer buff. As to Ivan Allen, he seems to have bought a horse or two in Ireland during the last few days, I know nothing more on that score but I may hear a bit of gossip at the 'Arc' which I'm looking foreward to, big time! I know Danny used to work under Ivan Allan, so I will see how it goes, I might just pick his brains a little hehehehehe.
Thanks again for the information. :-)

Is this Winifried that is friend to Ivan Allan?
Hallelujah!
09-02-2007, 03:40
Yes, he is a friend of Ivan Allan's. Ivan manoeuvered him into his previous position with the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Winfried has earned his present promotion as far as I know. I hope he is no longer involved with Ivan Allan in German bloodstock but once Ivan latches on to someone, it is very difficult to get rid of him.
For those curious, my health is much improved and I have been absent because I have been on a most entertaining mission!
I have been having some illuminating conversations with a 'scarlett woman'!
Someone once told me (when he wanted to get rid of a great French trainer who was several times a champion trainer in Hong Kong) that there is only room for one tiger on a hill. Well the old bugger better be able to handle the heat from the tigresses!
Has anyone else noticed that men who spend a lot of time around horses develop big noses?

Did anyone here ever mentioned that Ivan Allan jr was shot by hired assassins in Singapore when he was a top trainer in Singapore?
It happened at his house.
As Junior was getting out of his Jaquar to open the gate, 2 guys on motorcyles got down and shot him 4 times point blank.
Junior somehow managed to roll under his limousine and that saved his life.
Till today I dont think the police ever got the culprits, or found out who or why.
Hallelujah!
14-02-2007, 05:50
He told me he flung himself over the hood of the car and the neighbours were starting to look out the windows, and the guys jumped back on the bike and fled.
He'd pulled his car up in front of the gate outside his house and got out to open it, heard what he thought was a motercycle accident and turned see if he could help and saw the gun.
He tried to negotiate with them but the guy with the gun started shooting. He put up his hand to protect himself and one bullet went through his wrist. One bullet lodged in his lung and another in his heart. Four bullets hit him.
His blood was pumping out from the bullet in his heart but he got the gate open, and went around the side of the house and into the kitchen. Aunty Pet, (his mother) was coming down the stairs and fainted when she saw him. Tina or Shirley the secretaries called the ambulance and it is a miracle he survived. He's like Rasputin.
He told me he thought it might be relatives of a woman that might be angry with him but he found out it was someone who wanted him to get involved in something he didn't want to get involved in and he lost his temper, and the guy probably thought he would go to the police so hired the contract killers. He couldn't prove it so he set about getting the guy for illegal gambling and he went to prison.
Ivan was allowed to carry a gun from then on which is highly unusual in Singapore. He carries a gun in a holster around his ankle. He sleeps with a a metal bar by the bed. He wakes up in cold sweats. He travels around with professional body guards.
I have heard people in racing in England say Ivan owed an illegal bookmaker and he was shot when he didn't pay what he owed.
Ivans not one to cross - i hope Glory hasnt been knocked off , anyone heard from her ?

I am working on a new cartoon character called 'The Macedonian Princess' DOWNUNDER! She is a 'lawyer slayer', and the toon is based on real life racing characters. I have several drawings just at the pencil sketch stage yet but I thought I would attach one and see if any of you guys could guess who they are?
Topically, she has a race horse that Chris Munce failed recently to ride according to instructions, and of course it lost, arranged she suspects by the chap in the drawing. If so maybe he had a bet on another horse, or perhaps a friend of his did?
The guy doesnt look familiar although he does bear some resemblance to the producer of the Partridge family.

I left a 15 year relationship with Ivan Allan in July 2000 and although he has attempted to keep control of my life by stalking me with litigation ever since, I no longer have contact with his family. I liked his cousin Jackie and loved his Mum but Ivan is no respector of family ties. He was asked in our Family Division Court case what his English half brother's name was and he said contemptuously "Good question."
I know Ivan's Mum took Roddy in and helped raise him. Considering she chucked Ivan Allan Senior out the door when she found out his mistress was pregnant, that was pretty amazing.
I never met Roddy but I many times witnessed Ivan Allan manipulating him on the telephone or screaming at him in a colossal temper. I knew what that was like and I felt I knew exactly what he was feeling. I hope Roddy is okay and living somewhere well out of his brother's shadow. He has a family. Ivan showed me photos once of his wife and little daughter who was a gorgeous child but will be quite grown up now.
I presume you were Ivan's friend, as Ian is much younger and lives in KL and Robert lives in England. I was Ivan's friend but he was never mine and it sounds like he wasn't much of a friend to you either? Count yourself lucky you have not seen him since 1980, he is a sorry sight!

Glory Ann!
Hello and great to see you again!
My pc broke and as my poor husband has terminal cancer, it took him a week to fix rather than his usual couple of hours hehehe. Hence my late reply to your latest posts.
I am so glad your health is better. I have occasionally wondered how you are going.
Are you still living somewhere in the UK? And did your book ever get published?
Hugss for now... I missed you too!

The best thing about my book at the moment is it's title but it is virtually finished except for two chapters currently writing themselves! More about that later.
There was so much abuse in my relationship with Ivan Allan, followed by his malicious litigation for six years. It is difficult to get the perspective to edit it. Every time he does something else to wind me up or tries to hurt innocent members of my family, I take the book out and work on it. When he tried to bankrupt us this summer I finally started to make some real progress with it. I owe my sister for paying off the small Court order related to that petition. I am under other constant financial pressure as I have enormous debts related to borrowing to pay lawyers. Whether I like it or not, I will have to publish it, and I don't think I come out of it all that well either because I stayed so long in a putrid relationship.
Have you noticed the number of jockeys around the world being targeted for corruption in racing while people higher up go unpunished? Fascinates me. I notice that someone called Andy Lau has been implicated with Chris Munce in Hong Kong. Does anyone know if Ivan Allan's owner's Howard and Tony Lau are any relation? It's a long time ago now but I think Tony Lau's horse was called 'WINWAY'?
Several English Jocks received huge bans in England yesterday. The hearings were held in secret so no one knows what the evidence was and that in itself is disgusting. One of them Robert Winston was nearly Champian Jockey in 2005 and has a two year ban. There is quite a long list of jockey's involved and they all received 1 to 3 years with one being banned for good.

Hi Glory
Junior was shot because he refused to follow bookie instructions.
When news of Senior's fatal heart attack in Penang was announced, I was with the 'other' family - watching TV together. I was a teenager then.
I am not trying to side with Junior or oppose him, but he really is very popular with the ordinary people - like workers and syces. In fact when he was a student Junior was described as a good guy.
Has the horse racing world changed him that much? I dont know.

There are four half Allan brothers. Ivan is the oldest and then there is Roddy and then Robert or Bob as you call him, but the youngest is Ian and he lives in KL.
I don't think Ivan Allan has changed much. Very few people have seen his very bad side and most of them are women. His mood swings can be very frightening. Few men have seen this side, the ripping clothes up and throwing things and shouting like a crazy lunatic side or the physically violent or sadistic side. He won't stop once he gets going. The only thing he doesn't try to control is his temper. One man who has seen an Ivan Allan temper tantrum is Adrian Nichol the Irish blood stock agent.
Ivan Allan prides himself on being all 'smoke and mirrors'. The guy who makes things happen by slight of hand.
It was kind of you to post. It is very easy for people to believe what Ivan has said and had a few people posting on here. Ivan told the Family Court that I could know nothing of his life because he just called me over to have sex which he claimed to have paid me for and then put me out the door like a cat! Had he not said that, I would not have had to prove him a liar. A man who denies a woman in the way that Ivan did to me isn't much of a man.
Most men grow as they mature, Ivan diminished. Someday he will just disappear like despots do. Ivan used to be fond of saying: "Like father like son." I think I have said it before, Ivan Allan, was no stallion!http://www.asianracing.nu/vb/images/smilies2/rolleyes.gif

The big story in Australia about Marcus Einfeld has been brewing for months. There is a 'racing' connection to Ivan Allan and my corrupted family court hearing that lead to the destruction of my health and my personal worst nightmare, the amputation of my left leg, caused by the unending stress of malicious litigation and publicity. At least some of Ivan Allan's mates who helped him have not prospered. My mother's birthday is March 16th and that is a very important day this year for Ivan Allan. Whether the various witnesses who lied in the Family Court for him get their payoff may depend on his luck on that day. Watch this space! Please read the Einfeld story. I think there is a lot more to come. It is quite ironic that it is a sex worker has brought these great and mighty men to their knees! http://www.asianracing.nu/vb/images/smilies2/tongue.gif

http://www.asianracing.nu/vb/images/smilies2/biggrin.gif What's all this gagging business? What do these guys have to hide? The gagging order Ivan Allan tried to use on me has been used only on women, three times in English history and never in Australia and now suddenly they've used it on a sex worker?! If it makes her half as angry as it made me, watch out!

Hi Glory
How are you today?
During Ivan Allan's funeral, there was a queue of 'I am the wife" outside the house. Women of many races. All hoping, I was told, to claim a part of whatever is left of the deceased's estate. :D
Ok, I must agree about the temper temper bit, it really runs in the family line - but Bob is the exception. I am not sure about Ian though.

In 1989 Ivan told me his youngest half brother, Ian, was coming to London and could I book him into a cheap hotel.
I never saw any temper in Ian. He was a sweet, polite, slightly guarded boy. I wanted him to stay with us at the Piccadilly flat but Ivan wouldn't have it.
Ivan asked me to make sure he knew how to get around and didn't get into trouble. He seemed very young and innocent. My Mum told him to be careful if he walked through Soho because he could get into a situation. My young brother had been chatted up and said "The girls are really friendly down there."
The next thing Ivan gets a frantic telephone call. Ian Allan is in a club in Soho and they won't let him leave unless he pays several hundred £'s for drinks and dancing with the girls. Ivan read him the riot act and then he went and bailed him out before they beat him up. He was actually pleased. "Like father, like son." he said and grinned.
All the half brother's look like their father, except Ivan William Allan 'Jr' as everyone used to call him years ago.
There was, as you probably realise, no estate to speak of. Ivan had a devil of a time sorting out his father's complicated life and terrible business problems. He did an amazing job.
The jockey who was running his father's stables introduced him to the art of 'saving a horse for a big payday' and the rest is history, except Jr. had a law degree and applied what had learned to the business of horse racing. Ivan is terribly addicted to gambling.
Ivan has lousy luck at cards and used to get into some big problems playing poker. There was a wealthy Jewish guy who used to help him out when he didn't have enough money to pay what he owed (or the staff at the stable). Ivan called him 'Grandfather' and the guy charged him 35% or was it 33% interest. Ivan had to make sure he was 'lucky' at his racing.http://www.asianracing.nu/vb/images/smilies2/rolleyes.gif
The photo attached is not very good but it is the only one I have as Ivan had his bum boy Campbell Simpson steal a lot of my photos from 'The Gables'. Stupid asshole was so drunk or high or both he walked right by the huge collage of photos framed on the wall. The young gardener caught him red handed taking a huge suitcase from the house, that was so heavy Campbell had to force the young guy to help him. Well Ivan Allan had to try and make it impossible for me to prove we were together for so long. Pathetic.

But Ivan has his degree. Bernard Kho got him through. I remember Robert as a good looking guy. You know he doesn't use 'Allan'. His sirname I think is 'Holroyd'. I met him only once at Ascot. He seemed to have a bit of class about him that Ivan didn't have. http://www.asianracing.nu/vb/images/smilies2/wink.gif

Ivan Allan claimed in the Family Court that I knew he had other women he was sexually involved with and that all his 'mistresses' knew about all his other 'mistresses' and agreed to be in a sexual chorus line. This is the woman I caught in the Piccadilly flat in 1999 and this is her name on his pocket telephone list.

Hello Glory :)
I must say, I love reading your posts and especially the cartoons. What a clever witted lady you truly are.
The last two posts, are they from court documents?
I truly feel for your injustice over the years at the hands of Ivan.
I get the feeling that you truly loved this man and rather than let it defeat you, it has made you a stronger person.
You just have to finish the book lol. I will be one of the first to buy it!

This was a very interesting bundle of documents. On the day of the hearing the part time circuit court Judge Leonard Krikler, who did not normally sit in the High Court and who retired directly after the case 'smiling' allowed totally against procedure a large number of documents to be filed into evidence that I had no chance to examine before the hearing began, nor had my Barrister.
Despite my Barrister proving several of these documents were false schedules designed to mislead the Court the Judge did not cenure Ivan Allan or his lawyers.
When Ivan Allan employed 10 lawyers at Clifford Chance for a year attempting to consumately gag me, and prevent details from the case coming out, Justice Mumby, the brilliant young Law Lord looked at me and said to Ivan's lawyers, "There is nothing to prevent Glory Clibbery from publishing the entire case on the internet." I should have done it long ago.
The only reason Ivan would put these casino documents in was to hurt me, to show this girl was in London in 2000 as well as 1999. I don't see his famous friend on the list but he is I think a member in his own right. If this girl is a hooker that he gets to sleep with his married friends to get information and photographic evidence to hold over them as he told me then Albert Hung's wife should beware. All wives and partners should beware Ivan Allan's influence over their loved ones. It will ruin their lives and negate them. It is the women who get stronger afterwards and the men who are destroyed because they are so stupid to a man to risk everything for nothing?!
The many other lists from this one casino are interesting too. It may be that some of his guests would not appreciate their list being published. I do have to save the juiciest bits for my book but will keep on uploading for awhile.
Yes I truly loved Ivan which shows there is no accounting for taste. Who you love makes no sense at all. The sense of grief is gone and now I am just angry sometimes, usually when something has happened caused by him.
Thank you for your interest. I expect you realise that if I did not have some place to vent I would have burst. Family Court's held in secret are really wrong. Stuff happens there that negate people's whole lives. It is a human right to have a family. Ivan Allan denied me that. You have to be able to challenge what is said about you in a Court situation in the Public Domain. People like Ivan Allan believe the law and rules of society are for other people, not them.
Mrs. Lynda Spielman and Miss Marcy Boechler are my sister and my niece. You will recognise Ken Martinus as the journalist Ivan uses to ghost write his column 'Silks & Sinners'. Ken also works for Ivan in the publishing of a Time Form like book for Hong Kong and the Far East racing circuit and may be involved in the internet gambling company. Ivan described him to me as a 'gopher'.

Anyone who has been in a legal situation against Ivan Allan would do well to examine the documents he put into Court in the light of what I will upload onto this site over time, and print in my book.
Eventually Ivan Allan will be brought to 'book'. Each person involved in trying to destroy my life I believe will face the karma they deserve.
Ivan Allan will not get away with what he did with a corrupt hearing supposedly held in secret, because he could not do what he did without help, and he will have bragged to his mates how he the big shot Ivan Allan punished the woman who dared to leave him!
His Australian lawyer pal 'fixer' Mike Ryan is about to be arrested and he will go to prison for a very long time for corrupting a court case. His part in my Family Court case is under investigation. Every single person involved in business with Mike Ryan in the blood stock business in Australia and around the world is now under scrutiny by the Australian police.
Anybody ever involved in a Family Court case who reads what Ivan Allan, Michael Ryan and Mike Dillon did and said about me, who knows me will know how unfair it was, and how it would affect them if someone they loved did it to them!
The point is, nothing can fix the harm it has done, not only to me but to Ivan and the people he involved in this and other dirty business but maybe if the corruption is exposed it will stop this happening to other people. It should not happen in this day and age to anyone! It is too much to have to leave someone you have bet your life on and then find yourself in a corrupt hearing!
My lawyers were making points for him! My barrister seemed to be making his case for him until suddenly he started to work for me after I appealed to him with my heart and guts clearly exposed. Suddenly he started to try. It should have been enough. He exposed this schedule and tampered with letters and even missing stamps in Ivan's passport, all ignorred by the retiring Judge.
The expose of Ivan's false schedule went on for pages and pages. I can only upload small amounts onto this sight at a time.
