According to the info on the website, the factors used in the model include:
- Speed rating based on Sartin Methodology and Beyer speed numbers
- Weight carried
- Breeding: only the Stallion side
- Jockeys: given only a very small weighting
- Barriers
- Course and track
- Age and place of origin
- JC's rating
I am curious how Sartin Methodology can be used in HK given that we still don't have individualised sectional timing yet. I am not saying this can't be done but it'd certainly involve a large amount of work.
Also interesting to note that jockeys are not regarded to be all that important. hobbes would certainly disagree!

jockeys are definitly more important - breeding less so.
and yes to use sartin methods takes alot of work (i wouldnt listen to anything from him or his cronies - spinning tall stories all the time)
