Following article is from HKJC's website. According to an article which appears in today's Apple Daily, that ex-chairman Alan Li Fook-sum is allowed to stay in the Board of Stewards is unprecedented. I gather from this that all previous chairmen would not have anything to do with the Board of Stewards anymore. No comments from HKJC on why an exception has bee made this time. Together with the fact that two of his sons now work for the HKJC, one must wonder if Alan Li has turned the HKJC into his personal fiefdom.
Jockey Club elects two new stewards, Ronald Arculli named Chairman

At the Hong Kong Jockey Club's Annual General Meeting today (August 29) at the Happy Valley Clubhouse, Voting Members elected two new Stewards to the Board of Stewards and re-elected four Stewards.
Later in the day, the Board elected current Steward Ronald Arculli, a Hong Kong solicitor and barrister, as Chairman. Mr. Arculli has been Deputy Chairman of the Board since May.
Mr. Arculli was a member of the Legislative Council for 12 years and also has served on many civic bodies -- the Independent Commission Against Corruption Advisory Committee, the Judicial Service Commission, the Council for Academic Accreditation, the Air Transport Licensing Authority, the Town Planning Board, the Court of the University of Hong Kong and the Board of Governors of Lingnan College.
The new Chairman is currently chairman of the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund, the president of the Riding for the Disabled Association of Hong Kong and the president of the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation.
The Board also elected Mr. John C.C. Chan as Deputy Chairman, who has been a Member of the Club since 1969 and a Steward since 1993.
The two new Board members elected are: Mr. Rafael Hui Si Yan, managing director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, who joined the Club in 1978 and became a Voting Member in 1990; and
Mr. Christopher Cheng Wai Chee, chairman of USI Holdings Ltd., who has been a Member of the Jockey Club since 1976 and a Voting Member since 2000.
