Mick Kinane is supposed to be the jockey for Johannesburg in the Kentucky Derby. However he was suspended the other day until May 4 (Derby Day). Yet the latest I hear is he is still the jockey. What is going on? Where I come from we have a saying - you do the crime you do the time. I am sick of jockeys dodging suspensions that cover big races through the tricks of their fancy, Armani wearing lawyers. Cop it on the chin I say!!!
Anyway why is Kinane riding in the Derby anyway??? From what I have seen of the guy I am not overly impressed. Just a journeyman jockey I think. What do you Asian folk think? You have seen more of him in Honkers. Anyway it is just more European arrogance as they use their own jockeys instead of the locals. I bet that if Kinane draws wide he loses his compass and gets trapped wide all the from the start. And wide round all turns is almost certain death in American route racing. But I bet Mr Kinane does not know this. If he draws in he will probably go OK but I could probably ride it OK if they drew in.
