The Leading Edge Brings Racing Entertainment into a New Era
The Hong Kong Jockey Club has turned the 4th and 5th floor betting halls in the public enclosure of Happy Valley Racecourse into The Leading Edge, a betting area, with comfortable ambience and fine food for the general public to enjoy racing.
Speaking at a press tour of the new facilities this morning, Mr Alfred Leung, the Jockey Club¡¦s Head of Cash Betting Services said, ¡§The Jockey Club is ever in the process of upgrading its racing, betting, customer services and racecourse facilities to world class standards.¡@ The opening of The Leading Edge surely will be a big step forward towards our goal.¡¨
Mr Leung said the concept of The Leading Edge is to bring a brand new racing experience to customers.¡@ With racing, betting, fine food and advanced audio-visual facilities all in one place, The Leading Edge is bringing Hong Kong¡¦s racing entertainment into a new, fast-paced era.
Construction took sixteen months.¡@ The Leading Edge is composed of two floors with an area of 3,637 square meters.¡@ Each floor is divided into four areas - Media Hall, Loge, Hall and Balcony, all connected and air-conditioned (except for the Balcony).¡@
The Media Halls are equipped with 25 giant Plasma screens, digital processed sound systems and theatre-style seating.¡@ An unique feature for the Loge seats is the provision of personal LCD television screens which allow customers to switch channels and view their desired racing action and betting information.¡@ The Hall is spacious, bright, and equipped with advanced audio and visual installations and various betting facilities.¡@ Customers can place their bets hassle free and enjoy fine food in the same place with a wide buffet prepared by Jockey Club chefs. The Balcony, overlooking the track, is the best position to view racing action and enjoy the spectacular view of the racecourse.¡@¡@
The Jockey Club believes the concept of The Leading Edge will bring a new racing experience to its customers.

Can't wait to enjoy the experience of losing my money in comfort.
Mind you, I like the Macau plan better. The MJC will have hookers, clad only in fish-net stockings, as tote operators.
And little extras on offer for the high-rollers.
