Hayes gains a run for Super Molly in HK Mile
The Chevalier Cup (1600m) run yesterday at Sha Tin, was the last chance for the local horses to gain a start in the Hong Kong International Mile in December.
Trainer David Hayes scored the prize with Super Molly (Gerald Mosse) from John Size's Dr More (Rodney Quinn) and Emirates Stakes winner at Flemington Grand Delight (Shane Dye) finished third.
This race was upgraded from Premier class to domestic Group 3 this year, and was run under weight-for-age conditions. Of the 14 contenders, only HOUSEMASTER was not a nominee for the Hong Kong Mile (G1-1600m) to be run on December 15.
Third in this race last season, SUPER MOLLY won comfortably in the Group 3 Sha Tin Trophy, with MERIDIAN STAR and GRAND DELIGHT second and third respectively. Gerard Mosse picked up the ride, as Douglas Whyte, SUPER MOLLY's partner for the trophy, is under suspension.

Jockey Michael Cahill will return to Brisbane racing next month .
Cahill has been in Hong Kong over the last nine months but feels the time is right to leave.
"I've been here since February now but next month the European jockeys start arriving so it'll be pretty crowded here.
"I'm looking forward to going home and riding in Brisbane.
"I've ridden 18 winners here and am very grateful for the opportunity that was given to me, it's been a great experience for me."
Cahill will, no doubt, be a welcome addition to the senior ranks in Brisbane.
