Anyone know where I can find a details of stallions' performances in Japan (in English) ? I am interested in the sires lists for the last couple of seasons, chiefly for the performances of Jade Robbery, Bubble Gum Fellow and Fuji Kiseki.

No good I'm afraid, Harry. As websites go, the JRA's English language job is pathetic. They need to take a peep at the HKJC's to see how it should be done.

Sheikh expands Japanese operation

It is reported by the Japan Association for International Horseracing that 31 top class broodmares owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his family members have arrived in Japan to be covered by stallions in Hokkaido.

According to Mr. Eisuke Tokutake, marketing manager of Shadai Stallion Station in Hokkaido, 15 of these broodmares including Storm Song, winner of 1996 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies have been registered to visit champion sire Sunday Silence at the Shadai Stallion Station.

The following stallions are also lined up to serve the Maktoum broodmares; Agnes Tachyon, Admire Vega, Dance in the Dark, Fuji Kiseki - all these stallions being sons of Sunday Silence. Other sires being used include Kurofune (USA by French Deputy), Commander in Chief (GB), French Deputy (USA) etc.

Sheikh Mohhamed has long shown a keen interest in extending links with Japan with notable stallion movements such as Old Vic to Japan, Timber Country from Japan to Dubai, and Japanese sprinter Agnes World to stand at Dalham Hall in 2002.

Thanks again Harry - unfortunately I'm still none the wiser as to a current sires list in Japan. I'm beginning to think that there is no such beast, at least not in English.

Yeah, thses Japanese sites are a worry...unfortunatly they are few and far between. I wish that I could read japanese...there are some fantastic horse racing sites if you happen to have a Japanese computer!

Have a go at this one...might be interesting

What do you need?
I can spend some time searching current lists of JR's off spring and BF's in Japanese and let you know their racing performances and also 2yr olds yet to race.
There is the Japan Racing Horse Registry site in English but this is out of date and also lists a mailing address where you can purchase a catologue but I feel it is a waste of yen.
Let me know and I'll see if I can help.

Thanks, SW.

Basically what I am after is the Japanese equivalent of what seems to be so readily available in other major racing jurisdictions - up to date Sires Lists of the top, say, 100 stallions, including details of numbers of runners, winners, stakes winners, $ won and so on - a general list, a 2yo list, and a list of first, second and third season sires.

I'm not sure if such a thing exists, at least not in English anyway.

You need to log onto the jockey club site in New York, i think it is marylandracing.com and contact them. You will have to pay to get the info as they are the people who make the Japanese racing data available in English. There is a site here but it is in Japanese only and you have to have an account to access the info. I had one but currently not subscribing.
How current the info is I do not know but good hunting.

i think you want www.equineline.com as this is the newyork outfit that has limited JRA data. Im not sure if they have what you are looking for. A few years ago all they had was basic race results info.
